Don't let that stop you from coming man! There are tons of hotels in the area that are dirt cheap if you need to crash.

 

naw its just that i want to make sure that i dont get lost and miss the event!

 

and i live in the keys so it takes about an hour to get to miami. as for a place to crash i have peeps in Datyona so that shouldnt matter

this is going to be one badass event! I jsut hope the rain stays up. I'll be the dude carrying the hanheld/battery powered pocketfan. I tend to sweat CRAZY STYLE when its like 90+ outside. Yeah ill be sweating ***** that day!

 

I'm guessing by now everyone is following the development of the tropical storm off the coast. They have the track running right through south Fla (which will of course mean rain to say the least) being pulled in starting Sat. morning if not Fri. night..........and lasting all day as it tracks across the state. Can you believe there even talking possible strength to hurricane level ! ! ! ! Guess we should have planned this one in the panhandle ! ! ! ! My plans won't change till the last minute, but keeping my fingers crossed here. Jack

 

I have a prior commitment outside of Orlando that I have to go. I don't want to miss this. I've taked to FDrey and hopefully everybody can make it there around 11:30am. I have to leave by 2:00pm. Hope to see everybody there.

i've been following this event for quite some time and from the looks of things........this storm is going to dump alot of water on south florida.....don't know what it will do in Orlando but i hope it somehow gets diverted so that the event can continue.

every time I check that projected path, they change it going a little bit more South. Hopefully by tomorrow they have it barely touching the tip of southern Florida.

So looking at the most recent (5pm 8/24) update...it looks like the center is south of Miami. We will have to wait till at least tommorow (thurs) to look at the weekend forcast models as anything over 72hrs is pretty much useless. When it get down to 48 and 24 it will be more accurate. Right now however its a 60% rain chance durring the day on sat. I think that would be from rain bands on the outter edge of the storm. There will no doubt be some rain on sat, but I think it will be from late afternoon showers or early morning shows.

I hope it stays dry for us though. A little could cover and a nice breez would be excelent but please NO RAIN!

I'm pretty sure most of us are heading to the meet rain or shine. I'm being optimistic here, but I have a feeling it will be a beautiful day on Saturday

 

Hopefully, my noticeable vacuum leak will do little to no damage, by saturday. Like I said to Rey, I'm in the process of making up an excuse to get out of work on Saturday, and well, my vacuum leak is one of them. As for staying in a hotel Saturday night, Sunday morning, more than likely that won't happen.

 

Im waiting to see what it does, I live in SW FL Im suposed to be leaving friday night but im not driving 3 hours in tropical rain. hopefully the rain will hold off and im gonna try and get friday off and leave thursday night. so if Im in orlando ill be there rain or shine if I can make it out befor the rain gets here im stuck........

last i checked, still no advisory for the Orlando area with this storm.. still a 50% chance of rain.. which is.. well normal for everyone in Florida... lets keep our fingers crossed.

The excitement is getting to isn't it ! ! ! ! ? ? ? ? It's the anticipation thing. I know it no consolation to you but I'd rather see you take care of number one than risk any thing by trying to make it. There will be others (I know another Jax meet is in the works) And I agree that we should be far enough North that just the outter rain bands will come through. Besides most of S.
