I'll finally be back home in Tampa this summer, and I haven't noticed a lot going on Rotary wise. So, anyone want to just meet up sometime in May for a BBQ or whatever? ...maybe meet at a drag track for a Test & Tune night? ...nothing major; food, games, pictures, chatting.

I saw this already by the way, https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=183774
It is only during the night though, and I like daytime park rotary meets where there is none of that car show atmosphere. Just guys/girls (Rotor-heads = 12A, 13B, 20B, 26B, V8, whatever has an RX badge) chilling at a BBQ.

I'm fairly sure that thread's event will not conflict with what you're planning. That event happened 2 years ago.

Is anyone interested in a day at Philippe Park? For those that don't know, Philippe Park is in Safety Harbor, right on the northwest end of Tampa Bay. John and I planned an event there last July. We had a good turnout, around 40 cars. I'm quite busy to try and do all the leg work, but if you guys can agree on a date and like the idea of Philippe Park, I could have a pavilion reserved, or at least pass on the number to the park and the good pavilion numbers.

Update: I spoke to Alan about maybe making this BBQ/Dyno. He is gonna speak with a shop here in Tampa off 275 called Race Related, but it is around $125/hr, split it per person so we can all get 3 baseline pulls. But, I am sure they have a deal for parties of more than 1 person. If so, the date may be a little later than normal to gather money ahead of time so 2 people arent stuck covering a heavy bill - which is likely to happen when dealing with rotary guys for some reason, atleast in my experience and seeing what happened at the Winter Retreat recently.
But ...if no one wants to do that, a regular small BBQ is still cool.

Actually, the dyno I'm thinking of is at Race Related which is close to the intersection of Bryan Dairy and I-275 in Pinellas County (soon after coming over Howard Frankland). James is the owner. His usual rate is $125/hour to rent the dyno. If we get enough interest, I'll talk to him and see what kind of deal we can work out.
