GA ANyone know a shop that can do my rear wheel bearings?

I am capable of pulling off my brakes and removing the rear axles, but I lack the 2.7 ton press needed to take these bearings and collars off. Does anyone know of a shop that will do it for me for like $20 or $30 if I bring in just the axles, collars, and bearings? Most of the shops I've called want me to bring in the whole car, and the labor they would charge me to pull the brakes and axles would be too much.

They're not close to you, but Sugar Hill Automotive up near my house will do it. They're a new shop, close to work, and they'll take nearly any work for the sake of building customers. They've done some odd jobs on my Jeep that I didn't want to do.

Lawrenceville Auto Parts in downtown L'ville can do it also. But they aren't any closer.
You might try the big Napa store/distribution center on Peachtree Industrial south of Medlock Bridge. I thought they had some shop capabilities.

Dammit. I gave up on trying to find a shop that'd just do the axles because the guy at Sugar hill said that removing the bearing collars can damage tools easily (they'd have to grind it off because they don't have the bearing puller attachment. So it really isn't profitable to do it under $100. Then when I accepted defeat and started asking around if shops would do the bearings on the car, most of them got all bitchy and refused when I told them I'd supply the parts. I finally found a shop that'll let me bring in my parts, and my car, and they'll do it. I'm paying a cool $300 for it unfortunately, but I have no other choice.

Chris, if you want to grind them off you can use my grinder. Shouldn't take but a few minutes. You'd be amazed how quickly it goes.

I'd have to pull my axles early tomorrow morning, borrow my mom's car to drive to your place and grind the old stuff off, then drive to billy's and press the new stuff on, then come back home and reinstall the axles. It would be a lot of work, and take my entire Saturday.

The shop method is to wait until next Friday when I get paid (just before Zoom Fest), they take everything off and put it all back on for me, and I go pick it up. A lot easier, but it's expensive and done last minute.....

Which rout should I take? Ugh, I hate this.

I'm not going to go to sugar Hill automotive because even though their excuse was that it uses up tools and we'd solve that by me using your grinder, they also said they don't feel comfortable just doing the axles because the don't know how well it would fit and line up on the car, so they'd prefer not to do the job.

You can pick up the grinder ahead of time. Alternatively, you could meet us both at Billy's, assuming you've already cleared it with him.

I have planned something. If I do this, it'd be on my day off tomorrow. I think I'm gonig to cancel my appointment and ask if you could either bring the grinder to Billy's, or let me come up and see you tomorrow., I'm going to wake up really early and start pulling my brakes and axles.

Yea Chris bring it over. Crit will be at my house at 9AM. Bring the car and he will bring the grinder.

I do not have a axle puller. We both will need one. Will you stop by Autozone and rent a puller with the wheel hub adapters for us?

Yea, that is a quote from a company that simply did not want the job

We got him hooked up. He came by Sat and cut the old bearings off and I showed him how to press the new ones on. Good to go.
