Anyone in Central Florida that meets up strictly for fun ... not commercialized

Tried going to cenfl rx7 club or whatever, didn't feel like paying money just to hang out and buy into a discussion of "how to expand", even though the club seems alright.

Any rx7 meets that are just strictly fun and cut the bullshit out about trying to talk about growing, expansion, obtaining money and stuff like that? (Not ragging on cenfl rx-7 .. I'm just looking for something different I guess).

What happened to the meets where people simply walked around and shot the **** with eachother in a parking lot and had a good time?

If there's nothing like this maybe we should just start up RX7 meets, that are not really "club" exclusive?

There has not been any good meets in Orlando or East central Fl. in a while. We had a few small gatherings last year and it was quite fun. There are alot of Central Fl. rotorheads that dont bother with the political B.S. like you are stating. ( No offense not my cup of tea either.) I am sure something will be arranged soon. G

Really, maybe you have the wrong idea about the club, why don't you show up to the next meet. As far as i know everyone have fun and at the meets," i haven't got any complaints yet from other members". You are more than welcome to attend this thursday's meet and dont be afraid to participate and put your 2 cents, we are open for sugestions, opinions, and ideas from everyone.

hey like i said i salute the cenflarx club .. just not my cup of tea to talk politics of running a club during a car meet.

Personally I work very hard during the day and have to deal with the same expansion and corporate junk that was portrayed at the club.

I have nothing against coming by again and checking it out, but I really am not into the whole political deboggle of paying to sit around and talk politics and argue with people to voice there opinions, other then what a car show/gathering use to be about, which is just about cars/mods, talking about life in general, and random other oddities that pervail during the night.

On a side note, I think if you would like to run your club more efficiently, pick four or five people out of the club to act as the board/committe to make decisions, rather then just a prez and vp. (Not being rude in any manner at all ... just think it's something to look into). This way you dont have all the chaos of trying to round the troops and try to squeeze opinions and info out of them when they are all together. It allows you to lessen the responsibility and commaradoree of one indiividual.

My spelling and grammar is horrid I know.

My sincere apollogies for the way you feel about the club, i can see that your "hard work" is affecting your judgement. Get help soon! I recommend anger management courses. Oviously by not attending any past meeting you don't even know the amount of officers(more that 2) or any of the members. I don't know where you got your information about the club, so i suggest to do some further research or discuss this matter in the next meet with Tony,Paul,AC,Rob, and me along with all other club member so you can understand your false judgement and wrongful idea you have about us. Otherwise i wish you good luck on your endeavor finding a car club with people on the same level that you are.

Thank you for your concern, ill make a note to talk about it with all members at the next meet. Rico

P.S. I can lend you some of my sons spelling, grammar, and typing books for future knowledge .

I have stepped down as "vice-president", a 2 word, 13 letter[ironic], and a hyphen name, nothing more than that. I was selected, when the club had it's first couple of meets, and have put time, money, and effort into keeping the club going. I am isolated on east coast, but never missed a meet until recently[gas prices], including officer meets. I genuinely, like everybody in club, that has attended the meets or events, that is why i keep coming back, familiarity, breeds respect. There has to be common interests, or why bother. From day one, we have used a democratic vote from "attendees" to pursue club direction, and to get ideas, as to what they would like to participate in.
I do believe that any organization, club, group needs some kind of heirarchy, for guidance and to put ideas/plans into action. there are many street events in orlando, for looser car gatherings, that anyone in area can tell you when and where they are held if you ask.
I do agree that sometimes, I don't want to deal with the structure of club after hard day or night at work or school, but that is generally a 15-30 minute at most, part of meet. I like hanging with the most/more knowlegable people with rx, which helps when working on your own stuff. I look at club as a work in progress, like a car project. The point is... people move on from job to job, or state to state, car to car etc. Good luck finding another club to hang with or starting meets on your own.

Why do you have to take personal "stabs" like that? He and I said it is nothing personal. Just a matter of opinion. I think you need to calm yourself and think before you start getting defensive. I have been on this board since the beggining and never have had "personal" problems w/ anyone. A matter of a different view is just that. No need to disrespect............

Ok i see your point, very simple this kid showed up to our last meet with an attidude ,when i introduced myself and asked him to sign up he threw back the note pad to me,didnt say anything at the meet , and then comes here and try to badmoth the club here with false statements@ the forum it's simply wrong. Im one of the officers of the club and a rotary enthusiast, and i like the idea of meeting with other rotaryheads and socialise and have fun with RESPECT.if you think i took it personal, well he's not only disrespecting me but also everyone that attend our club as well. if you would like you to visit us in one of our meets so you can see first hand what we stand for. Im open for opinions, sugestions, and ideas to improve the quality of the club and im not alone on this and ill asure you that there's no comercialized or political atmosfere on our meets like previously posted. And if he got the wrong impession or got offended, i can prove him wrong if he show up. But if that the way he feels about it,OK. Life goes on!

But that's me.

I threw back a pad at you huh? You passed me a pad and asked me for my name and e-mail address. I gladly obliged, then PASSED the notepad back to you as had the previous people who had just signed in. I said there was nothing personal about my thoughts or interest in the club, just that I wasn't interested in the idea of this particular club. You were the one that started taking personal jabs.

Furthermore, like I said previously, I have no problem showing up again and giving it another shot. I simply much rather enjoy the freedom of having just strictly a car meet.

Thank you for critiquing my spelling and grammar by the way, I already said it was fairly poor up top in this thread. (You’re talking to an accountant here, not an English instructor).

Additionally, you’re coming down on my grammar and punctuality, huh? Take a look at your posts and look at how many fragmented sentences you have. Also atmosfere is spelled atmosphere. Badmoth is spelled bad-mouth. Socialise is spelled socialize. So you should be considerate and think before saying "P.S. I can lend you some of my sons spelling, grammar, and typing books for future knowledge".

Man, I have to agree with the others here. you stepped on hurleysurf24 pretty hard here. And even if someone did come off the way you claimed they did, you just lowered yourself to that point or lower by saying this stuff ^^^ . If Iwere interested in your club, THAT kind of response to a person would make me stay away if you are representing the club.

All the guy was asking is if there are any meets where people gather and just talk cars, with none of the obigatory stuff that comes along with club activities. He didn't say anything insulting to you, or the club or about the club.

I'm not taking stabs here, but maybe you need the anger management class?? Thats how you came across, angry.

Now, if the guy personally insulted you or was rude to you or your club, that would be different. I don't know what went on when y'all met, but I saw nothing insulting here..

Later,
Bill

Once again more assumptions, learn something before you talk, becuase thats not how it goes down. Sadly Rico set himself up for ownage there. Hurley, I watched you walk in, sit down, not introduce yourself, throw the note pad back at rico and not say a damn word, we didnt know who you were or what you wanted. I consider myself apart of the club, every meet I have gone too I have enjoyed. We are a bunch of rotorheads who sit and talk, joke and laugh, and we welcome anyone new to come to our meets and hang out with us. Sorry you came in during the serious talk session, but right after you left we had a jolly ol good time as usual. We've already been through the stage of standing outside and talking about each others car, we know each other, but if you were on time or stayed till the end, you wouldve got to that part, if you felt like making an effort to talk to us and introduce yourself that is. All im saying dont bother coming to our meets if you're going to act that way. Oh ya and its not like we said you have to pay money to sit down and have fun, the dues are for club members. So until you decide you want to be a club member you dont have to pay for dues. If anyone wants a good explanation on dues, pm dreamofmyrx7, Tony the president of the club. Im sure he would be more than happy to fill you in. Alright HurleySurf thank you for wasting your time with use that thursday night.

P.S. Im too drunk to taste this chicken

man listen, i just stared going to this club and i love it, their is no political crap going on. all this going back and forth at each other is a waste of time.if u dont like the club then dont go. but dont come onto the forum and tell everyone ur comments about the club. from what i heard u wasnt their long enough to know anyhting about it and it shows with ur posts. if u dont like it leave it at that. but before u talk about any more of ur opinions or views of the club stay for a full meet see what its about aight?

Mr. Killer,

First off i know Tony and Rob personally and they arent buying parts with the membership dues. So you should not be disrespecting them. As far as Hurley buddy if you didnt like the meet then dont go anymore, buy yourself a honda and attend their meets.

I am all the way down in Miami and i have attended the cen fla meets because they are fun and cool peeps to hang out with. I wont name any names because i dont want to leave anyone out.

Tony Im going to try to come up soonand get some festivities going.

By the way Jay how is the baby coming along.

Hurley,

Haven't been to a meet in a while. there are plenty around orlando though. Usually one by UCF on wednesday's, I-drive on saturday's as well as a place off of SR50, and not sure if people still meet up at "the corner" but i'm sure they do... like i said though, haven't been to a meet in a while.
