Any FL guys that enjoy reading RX Tuner Mag, read this ...

As I've mentioned a few times before, the single biggest problem we have with producing RX Tuner Magazine is deadbeat advertisers. We have almost $30K owed to us is back advertising, and it only costs about $7K to print an issue of the mag. That means that if people would pay, we could easily put out REGULAR MONTHLY printings of the magazine.

We're just 2 guys, Brian and myself, working hard to keep this going. But neither of us has any money to put into the magazine, so when people don't pay, the printing stops. Simple as that.

So what I'm asking is simple, anybody who deals with Dragon Motorsports in Hialeah (Miami), please mention to them next time you're there or on the phone with Luis, that RX Tuner needs what is owed to us. It's going to be the shops like Dragon that owe us money who decide whether we're able to continue publishing the magazine or not, and that's not fair to the reader. It's total bull$hit actually ... but anyway.

The magazine is published for one reason, the rotary community ... not to make money, that's for sure! But we at least have to break even. Any help from the community would be appreciated.

Have they refused to pay, or they just aren't answering/returning your calls?

Well, I'd rather not get into specifics. I think Luis is a good guy, but it's been over a year with constant phone calls from me ... and he's obviously avoiding paying. I'm sure all his other bills are a prioity, and get paid - just not us.

Hiring? Ha, we can't afford to pay anyone ... neither Brian or I has seen a dime in over 18 months from the mag. It all goes back to the point of this thread. We're busting our *** and advertisers are just taking advantage of us.

It seems to be a common problem in the publishing business. Deadbeat advertisers think it only costs you some ink and that you really aren't losing any money. What they don't realize is that had they not been in the magazine someone else with money would have been.

If you have a lot of issues you can always contact the better business bureau..I think its www.bbb.com and file a complaint. I checked the business in question and there were no mentions of it on there. So, they look clean on there at least. ( I know they COULD be complete crooks and just never reported by anyone)

Ryan/Brian have you guys thought of an E-zine? wouldn't that tremendously reduce costs for not only yourselves, but to the consumer as well? Don't get me wrong, I love having an actual mag in my hands, but whatever keeps the thing going I guess. I mean people could pay like 10-15 a year for an online mag, you could still have all the great articles, pics, and write ups and if someone like myself wants an actual copy of it in my hand, PRINT IT on your printer and be done.

Just a thought ( I really would hate to see this thing die)

I know Luis personally i will let him know. The only problem i have with this post is u say u are owed about 30K in back advertising from deadbeat advertisers. So why is (DMS) Dragon Motorsports being singled out in this post. Does he owe you the whole 30k? Why not post a list of everyone that owes you money since you have chosen to bring a private matter into public.

The only reason I'm posting it here is because I respect Luis, and would rather things be settled out of court. Some others have been sent to collections or a lawyer, and can't be discussed why the case is open.

First of BOOSTD 7 RX7Club Admin/Owner, sad to see a man call him self an admin/owner and have such little tactfulness. How could you put someone out there like this, it’s not like this is going to stop people from going to the BEST Rotary shop in South Florida. Please, Luis’s “LOYAL” customers are always going to stand by him.

Tell me Brian, have you ever sent Luis an Invoice? NO. Do you have any paperwork signed by Luis authorizing you to publish? NO. Have you ever asked for “PERMISSION” to continue publishing Dragon Motorsports? NO. Your agreement with Luis was publishing twice, you took it upon your self to keep on putting him in your magazine, for your own benefit, and then you expect advertisers to pay you for unauthorized publishing’s, Great Deal.

You say you are owed 30K, LOL, are you for real man. So you are going to tell me that out of 30K that you chose this poor hard working owner to bash for your own amusement. You say that because Luis is a “good” guy you posted this issue in this forum instead of reporting him to collection, or taking him to court. WOW, what a great guy you are.

Brian, you need to call the shop, which I will personally answer. WE will resolve this issue. I’ll tell you this much Brian you better show me proof of this money owed to you, that you are requesting to collect and it better be legal in the state of Florida, see Brian, I am not only acquiring Dragon Motorsport, Meaning I am half owner, I am also their legal representative, so call me with ALL the facts if you want to resolve this, instead of crying in this forum.

Have a great day

HAVE A GREAT DAY, and my God bless you preacher, you certainly need it.

First and foremost,
I don't know who you are Susy.. have we ever met. Let's clear something up so you are not preaching a false doctrine and judging me unfairly... I am not Pepe Pinguo.. I wish i knew who it was because he has a beef with several of the people on this forum. He said that he has attended one of my meets but yet I dont remember meeting him.

Second,
I was after a Rack n Pinion from Luis for a guy named Jose in the Dominican Republic who happens to be a customer of a good friend of mine so that narrows which island of the many islands it is. Why I didnt say specifically ? it would be a customer of mine and that becomes confidential.

Here is an excerpt from an email I received from him:

"Val,my friend just imported a japanese FD w/black intirior also.
he is going to do the LHD convertion first.

from this car I can use
1. steering column. please check for the turn signal, I didn't see it in the pics
2. el rack & pinion
3. the H frame where the engine and rack & pinion bolt to.
4. emergency brake handle. (mine is broken)

I still will be missing the dash, door panels, console.

let me know
Thanks
Jose P. "

Third,
You say that I used to call Luis for his expertise.. You are right that I called him for advice on some matters. There comes a point where I stopped calling because I personally found him to be unreliable... How ? I could never reach him as it would be days before I could get an answer. My customer in the Dominican Republic got cold too so he decided that I was unreliable... it's a chain reaction that spiraled downward. Perhaps that's his way of doing things.. but I believe in having common courtesy to all. At times I lose my cool on a personal level but business is business. I am perfectly fine with not calling him for anything as you have so requested of me here on this forum.

Lastly,

I know that the forum for all intents and purposes can be many things and one such as a place where the RX7 community can come together as a whole. There is something i learned early on when I too became the center of many bashings and I could not request it to stop. Well, I was told simply by a Mod that the forum is an open forum and everyone has the right to or is entitled to their own opinion less derrogatory verbage or profanity. Excusing your French when referring to some as ******** is not a nice word to use of all places and most especially on the forum. I think if it would have been best said in French which I also speak and in french it is written as: " Tru Du Cul" the "L" is silent. Written in french is not as damaging since most people on this forum do not speak french.

With all the above forementioned being said... I will close my post in desiring for Luis to be well and that God may truly bless him in his business and that these harsh matters not be a demise in anyone person's character. As for 'Pepe Pinguo' if he is lying about his statements then we all know that he is just making trouble just as he has so eloquently done with so many people on this forum and some members of the club.

I must say that I really don't agree with the way Dragon motorsports was called out. I in NO WAY know anyone or have ever delt with Dragon but to single them out on this forum is kind of un-proffessional.
What really should be addressed is the fact that many people have PAID for a subscription to RX Tuner and yet they are not produced as promised. It is NOT the subsribers fault NOR concern who owes money to the mag BUT rather why they are not recieving what they PAID for.
Just my $.002

Gabriela V I.
I'm not getting into it here with you. I just called the shop, but like the other 500,000 times I've called in the last year, I got voicemail.

My name is Ryan btw, not Brian.

Since you asked, My comp would kick me out every time I would post so I was not aware it was actually posting.

My question is does it really matter. But anyways. No need to continue this elementary stuff. so let this thread come to an end here.

Second,
I was after a Rack n Pinion from Luis for a guy named Jose in the Dominican Republic who happens to be a customer of a good friend of mine so that narrows which island of the many islands it is.

I still will be missing the dash, door panels, console.

let me know
Thanks
Jose P. "

Third,
You say that I used to call Luis for his expertise..

We all know its you, but I am not going to sit here and preach a new doctrine, as you mentioned.

Let's just leave it at that.

Have your self a great Weekend!!! "Tu Du Cul" thanks for the insite
