I appreciate the offer but Chris (SPICcnmGT) has the RB single on his FD and I've heard it a lot, and even though I like the way it sounds I would still like it to be a little louder/deeper.

bryant 07-31-07 03:16 PM

i have the blitz nurr spec its sounds pretty good. loud though.

bryant 07-31-07 03:18 PM

and any 3.5 inch exhaust will sound pretty good. till the turbo kicks in then it will sound like a motorcycle.
but if you want deep i think you need a v8.

sk8world 07-31-07 03:34 PM

Just get a super trap!! Then you can sound like your old 5.0!

Naw, its what ever you want. I personally have always thought the RB single and dual were the best sounding, looking and quality made. Not too loud but sound great at wot.. I also love how the duals keep the stock sleeper look and the single does not have a giant can (like my JIC and others). Never understood why the would make a 3 inch CB then flare it to 4-5 inches on the tip??
Only problem with the Racing Beat is under high boost they tend not to flow is well as others. I have been fighting from going with a 4 inch set up beacuse of the sound being so loud... I can see it before long, me sporting a vented hood and a 4 inch exhast.. The 2 things I said I would never do!!!

Herblenny 07-31-07 04:59 PM

Brad,

If you get rid of your RB let me know..

regarding which exhaust, I like my Tanabe with 5 inch tip with stock cat. Sounds deep and not too loud.

I also had N1 dual with cat (sounded great), without cat (sounded insanely loud), and without cat with dual silencers (sounded ok but still loud when got on).

I also had greddy exhaust (not sure if it was SP2.. might of), but sold it because bend seemed weird. I also had RB single (which I sold to Drew) and that sounded pretty good for weekend car.

Like Mike said, its what you prefer... I prefer the N1 dual because it could be nice with silencers and it could be ricer like without it and with MP.... and personally, I love how it looks!

hus 08-01-07 12:03 AM

Thanks for the input guys. I'm gonna listen to a couple of sound files and see what I can come up with. Phil, I'll let you know if I decide to depart with the RB duals.

Funny thing is I'm actually trying to stay with GReddy products since I have one of their boost controllers, FMICs and elbow. I might even change my intake hard pipes out from the HKS ones to the GReddy ones. I am seriously looking at the GReddy SP2. It favors the RB single but I believe it has a greater flow rate and heavier exhaust note:

Gilgamesh 08-01-07 12:40 AM

robert @ staticx is a greddy dealer, so he can get you what you need.

this guy named matt has a montego FD and got his greddy exhaust from him and it sounds fine crusing and a BEAST at WOT.

sk8world 08-01-07 12:35 PM

Yeah, Matt has the Greddy Ti. He said it was very load but I never heard it running..

If Maxwell is in Montgomery, you're probably the only person who would possibly know because I think you're the only person who posts from Montgomery.

I'm new here but I'm from Montgomery. I'm not sure who owns that grey fd, but I think I have seen it before.

cibrspeed 08-12-07 11:28 PM

Horrible experience !!!!!

Just left Walkers Dyno Tune in Trussville Al, to get my car dialed in. Last night the guys at Walkers help me by adjusting my apexi fc. They worked on it very late. They squeeeeezed me in at 8pm, we got started at 9:45, they worked on it til a lil past 11pm. They told me to return tonight around 6pm to get it dialed in. I called at 6pm as instructed by Walker to be sure they were all there. I left message. He then(walker), kindly phoned me back to inform me that steve kan would be there and could be very helpful in this process.. I was called around 7:30pm tonight and was told to be there in about an hour.
I got there only to find no one there. So my girlfriend and myself went to fill the fd up. Got back, they pulled up. Mr.Kan was there to help a local guy tune his ride. (Steve Kan, was EXTREAMLY talented and kind). I saw him dial a 1st gen with a 13b to 417 rwhp!!!! It was awsome to see him work.
When i got there NO ONE even spoke to us!!!! We waited out in the 90deg heat for 2hours without walker or anyone telling us ,as what could be expected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about feeling like a f'in fool. Steve had'nt even been made aware of me comming. As a business owner, I felt like i was almost"in the way". So, after 2 hours of this....... well you get the hint , we left!!!!!

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET MY FD DIALED IN? I have a fc computer, t60-1single turbo upgrade,1600 inj, front mount, blow off v, stainless exhaust manifold w/ atmospheric dump, as well as a full exhaust with a HKS Power cat back. Too much too list.

All i want it, is to spend some MONEY and get my car dialed in. We got it to 265 last night and was told it was capable of up to 400 EASY. I dont want balls out power. I do however want to be treated like a CUSTOMER and have my car tuned.

Thanks Gang !!!!!!!

Gilgamesh 08-13-07 02:59 AM

the best dyno in alabama is at static x in huntsville of hwy 20 in madison. its a dyno dynamics dyno and its very nice. www.staticxmotorsports.com

their tuner is not as good as steve, but you can rent the dyno and bring your own tuner.

bryant 08-13-07 07:52 AM

steve kan came to walker dyno and there wasnt a thread started about it!! i would have taken my car in a heart beat!!:crying:

I think it was hush hush, and no one was really suppose to know about it. It wasn't really a tune session so to speak. I think it was more of a personal call/deal.

Herblenny 08-13-07 09:49 AM

Dang Bryan made 417RWHP on that car!!

cibrspeed 08-13-07 10:06 AM

Oops.........bigtime Oops !!!!!

Hope i didnt let that cat out of the bag.
That car made 417 when we left........ they were still tuning it.. can you say DAMN!
Guys, thanks so much for all the help. It is very much appreciated.
Both of those guys were reallly nice to us.

Christopher

SPICcnmGT 08-13-07 10:54 AM

^It probably doesn't matter now. They probably didn't want a bunch of people wanting to try and get tuned and take up Steves time while he was here. Which is probably why they didn't get/or give you much of a chance to get tuned. But I wouldn't worry if I was you. You said Walker told you to come by so no biggy. I can't believe he didn't say anything at all to you though, sometimes when he is busy running the dyno he gets that way. He is a nice guy and very helpful. I've know him for a long time and sometimes he doesn't talk to me if I go up there and he is busy.

bryant 08-13-07 10:57 AM

i call that bad customer service!

+1

SPICcnmGT 08-13-07 12:43 PM

Well for one thing. How many dyno's are actually open to the public on a Sunday afternoon at 6pm?? If it isn't operating hours, that's like getting mad at the McDonald's employees because they won't fix you a burger even though they are there cleaning up or setting up.

Or is it good business to take care of the customer at hand or the one(s) waiting in line?? Such as had you rather the McDonalds cashier take all the orders for everyone first, then go and get the meals(that would make for a long lunch hour if you were first in line don't you think??), or had you rather them take one at time and get your meal in a timely fashion?? Don't you think if they took all the orders first you would see a major drop in customers??
