94 RX-7 Track Car Project Begins
Here is a 1994 White Rx7 Purchased to build a Track car for NASA and SCCA events. I will Post Pics as the progress continues. Any Input or sugestions will be greatly appriciated. I will also be parting out the complete interior along with the OEM Hood and Trunk.

where did you find a white one? Does it have a rebuilt title? If it didn't I would of so traded you!

I have gone ahead and listed the parts on e-bay for a Quick 5 day auction. they will end by sunday. Too many people wanted same parts and 2 diff guys stood me up with payment. I just dont wanna deal with it. If your really interested check what im selling under rcfreak26

It is my understanding after having spoken to both Rob 'Rob20RX7' and Danny '550rwhprex7' that this project car is solely for their use .. their personal use, not to be confused as a project car for the SO FLA RX CLUB. However, Dwight 'Autohaulers' did purchase and donated a '93 FD to be solely used by all the active paid members of the SO FLA RX CLUB as a Track & Drift Car. This FD will be our project car where each of you will be able to get a hands on experience taking it apart, donating items and just really working on it as a collective effort from its members. For instance Roland 'Outkast' posted that he would be willing to donate a 3" Mandrel Bent Downpipe. Someone esle called me to donate the racing seats. Like Val Mentioned. This car is for my own private use. I am posting my progress on here to share and take input frpm those who have it to share. I am aware that the club is wanting to put together a Track car and after speaking to Val, He has even mentioned that there has been a car already donated. I commed this club for what it has done and come with over such a short period of time. Yes i will be involved in trying to get my project done but i will definatly like to help with that one of the club. i would love to see the club car on the track as well. that would be exciting. Never seen any other club pull that off.

Did you find that car somewhere here in Ft Laud?.....I was actually looking at it also and contemplating on getting it. But decided not to. Good to see it went to someone that will put it to good use. Good luck with it.

yeah this was in ft lauderdale just off broward blvd. And thanks things are moving along now the biggest part is the roll cage because i have to depend on someone else.

Damn that brings back memories.My SCCA car was white when I started,looked just like that only my car was a Canadian 94 white base.The one in my sig.Looking good so far,just be sure your cage builder builds taht cage to SCCA spec,Through the firewall to the shock towers(if you are club racing).

Here is an update, The Car was finished today, Just as the fabricator Prommised (9 Days). This guy is out of hand with his work. His welds are even and artistic the way he bends the tubing to truly follow the inside contour of the car. I have seen a couple roll cages that have been done. This guys work surpasses them all. A little pricey, but you will get what you pay for. I dont know anyone else that was able to get all this work done in that amount of time. AND it still look this good

its actually about 1 inch higher than the stock one. just looks lower because there is no bumper.

Here is the Front Oil Sump Cover by Mazdaspeed. This is some serious race shit here. only way to get this through Mazda North America Operations. This is the same one used in the Mazdaspeed 3 rotor ALMS Prototype car as well as in the CLR Motorsports Race Car (owned by Carlos Lopez)

As for the engine, I have ordered the rotors and the housings and the counter weights. I cant get into exactly what im using, but i can say that it will be a CLR 13B Peripheral Port engine. I am still deciding if im going to go Carb. or EFI. But according to CLR. I will be doing about 330-340 to the flywheel. At 1800lb without driver (you guys do the math) LOL.

Well i can now say that after everything i have sold, im about fresh out of money. But mostly all the big stuff has been purchased. so from here on out, it will mostly be labor and a couple little things here and there. Might i note, i got good money for my shifter Kart and trailer which was almost a total of about 7500.00 plus a heli i sold for 3600.00. between that and all the parts i have sold from the car itself. i have been able to purchase everything i have obtained so far.

Here is some more stuff that came in today.
the rear Hatch Lexan (Polycarbonate) Weights only 11 pounds together with the CF Hatch thats only 25 pounds together as apposed to 51 pounds for the OEM Hatch and Glass together. Suspenssion Arms Now Ready for Install
Here is a pic of the Arms with the new Delrin Bushings Installed. I will be installing these by the end of the week and plan on working on this all day saturday. My plans are to have the car on all 4 wheels by Sunday (Fingers Crossed) then from there i will mount the fuel cell, Oil Sump Tank and then take it back to the Roll Cage Fabricator to take care of some stuff left unfinished. Then i will begin the Plumbing and electrical.

Its Done!! Painting is complete!!!
Yesterday they finally shot the car with the paint. I have to say that i was very skeptical if the painter was going to pull it off. and he did. the paint looks awsome with the pearl color. Its the orange from the 05 Lambo Gallardo. Looks awsome.

here are some pics i shot today. I know i havnt posted any but as we sit. im waiting on the housings to get peripheral ported. (Put sleeve through them) and then build the motor. I pretty much have everything purchased already except for the plumbing which is my next step now. The brakes have been installed and brake line run and connected. I will next install the tranny with the dummy engine and start measuring the lengths for all the plumbing so i can order everything. im shooting for November to be completed but this all really depends on the engine builder.

Awesome. I really hope to do something like this one day once my shop starts to really kick off...I would like to do a widebody though, with the stock dash still in place. Basically a car for running track days and possibly for drifting events, since drifting is fun also.
Keep up the good work on this car. I am eager to see it all come together. |

Here We Go!
Got the Rotor housings in today. Along with Ianetti Ceramic Apex seals and also a set of Special Star Mazda Crank and water pullies. Next step is to send housings out to get machined and have Peripheral Port Sleeve installed.

i think your car is slowly taking Jack Mardikian's vintage red race car out for my ultimate dream RX-7. i am in complete awe of the way in which you are building this car. from the top of the line parts, to attention to detail, to clean installation, this car is nothing short of becoming perfect. keep up the good work. i cant wait to see it finished.

Yeah, thats the 22 gallon Fuel Cell which replaces the factory OEM Gas Tank. This cell has an inner bladder to help prevent a fuel spill in the event of an accident or rupture.
