There is no Test and Tune on the 24th. Only Go Karts, and NOPI.

I AM down with NOPI Regardelss, but there won't be any other kind
of racing for us.

I am glad many people are open minded about the long drive to the track. We can have more people from up north meet us, run legally, and have plenty of footage.
Just a note:
I think during Nopi and other big events it's hard for us "little guys" to get any runs in on Saturday. The pros practicing get priority. Also, go karts at Moroso are A TON OF FUN, but every time I do it I never get to run more than once. It's all good, those running can get in the tech line early and the rest of the group can have a blast karting, then come and watch us. I vote for test n tune when there's no big event that weekend. This is going to be great

I didnt have my RX7 last weekend...So I showed up in my Harley Davidson Dyna Superglide.

May Jezebel rest in peace with her new owner. I will sure miss my black RX7 vert.

9 MPG was too much to handle and that third engine that this guy installed I had nothing but problems with. My next car will be an Isuzu Vehicross.

TwEaK, You have some good ideas for the next meet.

I will keep myself out of this one and just sit here in the shadows.

You are the organizer of this particular meet.

Hope that you can make this "6th Miami RX7 Meet" a successful one.

Exclamation Darkphantom ran alongside a Koenigsegg on Saturday Aug 27th

James "DarkPhantom" was telling me at this past meet that he had gone to some event at Homestead Speedway where for $50.00 bucks he was able to race his FD @ 140 MPH alongside a Lamborghini, Koenigsegg and some Beemer. I thought that was pretty cool. I know he first brought it to my attention of this even back at the 1st meet in Kendall.. then he posted it on the 5th Miami RX7 Meet Dyno Day @ Lopez Racing thread.

When I asked him if anyone in the group had gone he said "NO" .. so no one was able to go with him and be a part of what he made seem to be a great event. It brings an important thought... about the lack of participation amongst the other fellow rotorhead members. I, for one do not have an RX7 that could match the performance attributes required to run on an oval track or even a speedway in Homestead.

James Dark Phantom was able to since he has a turbo charged FD. It would have been interesting to see more people having accompanied James to the Homestead Speedway event this past Saturday August 27th. I asked James to show me a video as it would be great to post on this site. He said he had some pics only so we will wait to see those.. they should prove to be as exciting as I was intrigued by the telling of that day's event that he was a part of.

I have been looking into talking wih a major city here in the vicinity to use part of an airstrip to have a sanctioned event where we can let it all hang out.. plus have the proper venue to have legal runs but it seems you have to have a lot of flow to make it happen. I have an appointment setup within the next couple of weeks to see about bringing this notion up with the respective municipality. It's just an idea right now and I have been trying to get enough support from viable sponsors. After all .. Money talks

I am a bit concerned with this idea since I have noticed that in the past meets there have been people who say they want to be a part of it or that they will support the meets and when the day comes they just dont show. When the Dyno Day was in the works there were so many people that said they would attend even if they didnt Dyno and just go as a spectator. And some of these persons did not even show or somehow forgot about it somehow even though they posted that they were going to attend.

It would be futile if interest was sparked in being a part of this event by lets say hipothetically 40+ persons and only have 10 people show up. It seems to be apparent a pattern that I have seen in the last couple of meets.

I would like the meets to be successful and I have to admit that at times I am a bit harsh with my comments and it is because i want the events and meets to be a hit where the RX7 community can grow. When I notice that there are less people showing up to the meets and most specially the ones that say they will show up no matter what and dont., well what can I say at that time ?

Damian had told me how difficult it was to have the MRCCFL and that members did not want to pay dues... well there are costs involved... costs that people dont see... the last couple of events there have been costs and monies spent. I am grateful to people like Roland, Phil, Abel and some others who have actually contributed to the meets even by just showing up. There have been numerous ocassions where Roland has been busy with church and family on a sunday and he always manages to show up to the meets. This is the kind of participation that is necessary to make this all happen and be successful. Directfreak said in a post that he would like to see these meets evolve into a Miami RX7 Club but that requires involvement. It requires being there physically in person and that is what is needed. I like TwEak's perception of things related to the meets,.. Just to show up regardless of what you are driving and he has even shown up in a old beat up truck. Tell me if that is not interest and loyalty.

Oh well... I have written more than I had expected...

CAN WE ALL JUST GET INVOLVED ?

That's cool. Thanks for calling to remind me, else I would have known about the meet due to no internet for a while. I am willing to contibute sodas, snacks or a few bucks to help make a good positive meet happen for next time. I think we are all limited financially but a little bit goes a long way when it adds up. The most important thing is for a lot of people to show up with the cars running and looking nice and get along. It would be interesting to find out the price of renting out Moroso for a day just for us. I know it's probably EXTREMELY expensive, but just as a wild idea, could it be less than the airstrip? If the cost is divided by 15-20 peope? I don't know.

Just Keep Pitching Ideas We’ll Come Up With Something. I Do Like The Idea Of Going To The Mall. It’ll Be Funny To See The Looks On Their Faces When They Roll In And They See A Group Of Rx7’s And All They Have Is Shitty Hondas No Ofence Preacher. But That’s What You Mostly See In The Malls. But Im Up For Anything. The Only Thing That’s Killing Me Is The Gas Prices.
