2001 yamaha R6 for sale
whelp, i searched and searched and finally found a motorcycle i wanted and bought it less than a month ago. well, yesterday my insurance company flaked on me and tried to double my premium after i had already paid. i could afford to keep the bike but school is more important.
specs:
-01 yamaha R6---599cc
-13,3XX miles
-new metzeler M1 front tire(<100 miles)
-very minor scrapes from previous owner laying it over
-Yoshimura RS-3 Stainless exhaust
-520 chain and sprocket upgrade
-Goodridge Stainless braided front brake lines
-Harris grips
-Fender eliminator
-LP flush mount front signals
-Carbon fiber flush mount rear LED signals
-Zero Gravity tinted windscreen
-Swingarm spools
the bad:
after buying the bike i came accross info that i didnt know before, apparently 99-02 R6's have a problem with the 2nd gear dogs rounding out. the previous owner swore and swore he didnt know the problem was there but it was there since day 1 of me owning the bike. i will more than likely have this problem fixed before the bike is sold unless the buyer doesnt want the problem fixed. it can be fixed for $130 in parts. all the problem does it while im second gear it will kind of feel like it skips. i have driven the bike a lot and the problem doesnt cause the bike to be undriveable. i just dont get on it in 2nd gear. havent gotten on it much at all cause its my first bike.
**CARFAX AVAILABLE**
AS IS---$4000
with tranny fixed---$4000 + price to have fixed
i also have a yamaha racing jacket, 2 HJC helmets and a pair of joe rocket gloves that i will sale for an additional price.
**MORE PICS FROM PREVIOUS OWNER**

This is a 01 600cc with 13k and a weak 2nd. I would understand if you are tanked in it and your trying to pay it off. Otherwise the price is too high... Don't get me wrong I still think this is a kick *** bike.... Good luck..

tell me why the price is too high? look around, you usually dont see these bikes go for this much. theres a 99' with 32,XXX miles going on ebay now for what im asking for mine. i am just trying to pay it off, i havent even made the first payment on the loan yet.

2006 $9000, When you drive it off the lot $5,500. Book value on your bike is $2,800 Clean.
It is still a bad *** bike and I understand your position. I hope you sell your bike for $4,500.
Good luck.

heh.. man, im not trying to put you down or anything but 4k is a little above average price/worth for that. im not talking out of my *** either. check out r6mn or the r6 forums and see how much other similar r6's are going for.
good luck
if your interested, i would trade my motor setup with turbo for it.

NONE are cheaper than mine. i have never seen an R6 go for less than $4000 unless it had severe damage.

don't be discourage by those people, they apparently have no idea. Your bluebook might say $2800 but NOT ONE 01' R6 can be found for that price.
This is not some sort of race yzf600, it's an R6, completely different motor.. The price he has is extremely fair seeing as it is a clean clean bike. Swapping out a gear is easy as cake for the everyday mechanic. It took two days for me to rip apart my 92' FZR600 and rebuild the tranny and get it back on the road.. First time ever working on a motorcycle... FSM's do wonders!!

What's up man, I'm XxMerlinxX from R6MN.com also, so I know how it is. Those add-ons are at least an additional $450, that's just totaling up the 4 mods that I know off the top of my head. The 2nd gear problem (you should've researched that first, they're on practically all of'em) isn't that hard to fix, once you know it's there. It can get worse later on down the road, so you want to get it fixed as soon as possible. I don't think $4000 is such a bad price, but that would be with the tranny fixed.
On a side note, let me ask around down here (I'm in greenwood, my girl's from westminster, so I know your area) and I'll see if I can't find someone looking for a good bike.

^^^antivenom---what?
thanks gerbraldy- i dont see where these people were looking for R6s. the only ones theyre going to get for anywhere near $2800 would be wrecked or old stunt bikes, which would be in horrible condition.
merlin--thanks. i just got confirmation from a guy in atlanta that a 03 R6 tranny will fit in my 01. he said i have to do a full tranny swap though, not just 2nd gear. i can get a full 03 tranny for around $250 and it cost $150 in 01 parts to fix the 2nd gear. when using the 01 parts its not as good, so ill get somemore info on the 03 swap and if its guarenteed then ill definately do that and NEVER have to worry about it again. although, with that ill have to ask a little more for the bike or i might keep it.

If you are so torn-up about it, why not just sell it on your R6 forum? Besides, if it's such a good deal, why hasn't anyone from there jumped on it?
