Videos of my LS1 Rx7 buildup
I hosted them awhile back, but the ~40Mb filesize was putting the hurt on my server. So, I finally got around to putting them on google video. Enjoy.
Coverage of the 1-year buildup of the car
Video of the car at autocross school
My bandwidth usage was in the mid 15-Gb/mo range after I first posted the video. That was scary :P

Right now, the motor is stock. Depending on who you believe, I'm making somewhere between 300-350hp (crank). I imagine that the intake does something, as many F-body (camaro/firebird) owners pick up a decent amount of power by getting an intake tract without baffling. The exhaust is a 3" single, but I'm not sure how that stacks up compared to the stock exhaust.
After a season at the track (HPDE at Summit Point), I'm hoping to throw aftermarket heads and a cam in, and make somewhere in the 450whp range.

Not the company
NICE video, i watched the whole thing. Must have been really frustrating at the beginning, and then you couldn't get the title for the black car. That's a LOT of work, as you obviously know. Again, nice job!

riceburner1r2001, Some do but at least he didn't bash the 13brew, he just put a v8 in it could have done worse. I wouldn't put a v8 in mine if I got paid to, but its whatever floats your boat man I just hope you enjoy it and don't make it into a rx7 with glasspacks and Stickers all over it.
P.S. as a student in longwood university xthephilx I understand the sleep deprivation factor and trying to balance your car hobby. hopefully this won't become a rotary vs piston thing but either way man good luck in school.

@ thephil: I can't get over the way '7s with V8s pull. It's not fair that I have to go buy a big turbo, haha.
Hope you start making some big numbers soon. We all know what LSX's are capable of. Good luck.

ROTARD FOR LIFE!!!
Very nice vid, and car too... I think I like the black/red like that...
I must ask though, how much did you spend on the FDs, and then on the LS1?
As much love as I have for the rotary, that vid almost makes me want to go and swap an FC
besides, I just got an L98 Powered Vette, and already I want it into somthing like an FC... Now I understand why so many want to V8 FCs and so forth, the bodies are too complicated and you still dont get the performance from a vette body than with an FD.
Very Nice Vid and Very Nice Car
and that coming from a true Rotard...

riceburner: I bought both of my FDs without motors, solely for the intention of installing the LS1.
bkg: Not to worry. It's going to be my rr/ax car. I'm keeping the nice, quiet, resonated exhaust just because I'm not a loud exhaust type person.
MrFC3S: Thank you. I spent $4500 on the first shell, delivered. The second was $500, also delivered. The motor was $5000 delivered. Everything was shipped directly to either my house (the black chassis) or to the house where I was working on the car (everything else).
Also, I'm painting the car now. Progress on the paint can be seen here: www.the-phil.com. Everything I've done on the car, I've done myself. The only exception is the exhaust, because I couldn't weld at the time. I still can't weld very well
The paint itself is a major learning experience in itself. I've found out just how much more prep matters compared to the actual paint. Surface imperfections and roughness have caused me to have to paint the car more times than I've wanted to. In the end, it's going to be worth it though.
