+1, LOVE the Cobra R!
Maybe it's because I own a Mustang but whatever.

^^^ I don't know how many they made, but I found one for sale about 30 miles from my house. This was 2 years ago. It was a 2003 Red Cobra R with 16, yes, only 16 original miles on it. It was awsome. They wanted $69,000 for it. It is one of my dream cars, but I would rather spend that amount of money elsewhere.

The SVT Cobra R debuted as a late 1993 model (107 built, all red) which had a track-oriented package including larger brakes, altered spring rates and shocks and a larger rear sway bar, and the same 235 hp and 280 lb-ft. 5.0L engine as the standard Cobra. Air conditioning, sound deadening, the stereo system and rear seats were not included to minimize weight.
1995
Based on the success of the 1993 model, SVT developed a more powerful Cobra R for 1995 (250 built, all white). It included a modified 5.8L Windsor V8 producing 300 hp and 285 lb-ft., a 20 gallon fuel tank, and a Tremec 5-speed. Weight-savings included no back seat, radio, air-conditioning, or fog lights, which were omitted to provide ducts for the front brakes. Heavy-duty progressive-rate springs, thicker stabilizer bars and a front strut tower brace improved handling on the track.
2000
In 2000, a special Cobra R (300 built, all red) was released with a 5.4L DOHC engine that produced 385 hp and 385 lb-ft. of torque. It included an even stiffer track-oriented suspension, side-exit exhaust, and had no radio, no air conditioning, no back seat, and this time, no heater. It included a taller "power dome" hood, a tall rear deck spoiler, and a front air splitter to keep air from going under the car to reduce lift. The wheels were special five spoke 18x9 alloys.

YEEAAA, that's what I'm taking about!!!
BTW, that 385 horse and torque is under rated. That car is still wooping the supercharged Cobra's on the 1/4 mile and of course, in every other area. Oh yea, and it's naturally aspirated!!
