I have never seen a temp gauge on a FC go above halfway....especially a S5. Also seems weird that the speedo is in KPH.

Canadian car
That's the way the temp gauges sits. It does not move.
I was at the track for a full 2.5 hours and it stayed there.

I was going to say, the needle does seems higher than half way thru; i don't know it might the angle of the camera.

BTW - What are your mods, it looks like you were doing 4 gear pulls (maybe 3rd gear?)

It should rev up much quicker even if it is stock, I think. You would better to avoid WOT at 3K on 2nd or 3rd since it often time results pretty dull (I feel it on my S4 NA). We need to keep at least 4K to get better acceleration.

Wow, you guys must drive super fast cars...

According to the vid, I am roughly doing low 4 secs from 40-70mph.
2 yrs ago, I was in high 5 secs.
A big improvement from before.

Anyhow, why don't you guys time your 40-70mph runs and post it to see if my car is actually that slow....

below is a reference to ther NAs doing 40-70mph tests.

I also did two 40-70mph runs in 2nd gear and it averaged 5 sec.

There were me (175lbs) and a buddy (160lbs) in the car.
I have an amp and a 10inch woofer in a box in the back.
I had 1/4 tank of gas. No spare tire or jack. Everything else in.

It's a 1990 GXL with a mazda reman with 20k miles on it.
Only mod is a cone filter and cold air duct. Stock everything else.

It seems like you're overheating, Canadian car or not. Also, It seems to rev slowly and accelerate even slower considering it's KM/H. Maybe I'm just used to 483 hp and a temp gauge that sits below 1/2 in 100 degree weather.

That's the way the temp guages sit on S5s. They don't move at all.
483hp vs. 160hp. I damn hope your needle swings alot faster then mine.....

Really? I didn't know that. In that case I wish I hadn't sold my mint S5 for cheap thinking it was overheating ......
Well, my car does rev a lot faster.... I would say my 4th gear is like your first.
But if you feel your car is running good and is reliable than there is probably nothing wrong with it...

you might want to check that... i have a 10ae, and my temp was at the same spot. there are "2" drain spots.. one on the block and one on the rad.. my t2 block one was one the drivers side engine mount.. also my thermostat was shot.. now im way low on a hot day.. less than half like the other guy suggesed. if in dought get an aftermarket gauge to check.. cdn or not... i dont think it should be that high.

Colant Temp Gauge needle sits at:
86-88 FC = 1/4
89-91 FC = 1/2
