Speakers not working, help!!

Ok guys, 1st off, i'm shocking at electronics! I own a 1990 Aus-delivered RX7 turbo. Recently while mucking around with my speakers, i found that the 2x 6" in the doors weren't working, one was unplugged plugged in and nothing, different speaker still nothing. Also the one above the drivers legs also doesnt work, so what could it be? Can i get a VERY simple step by step of how to get them working?

Also, really noob question here, does it matter which wire connects to each part of the speaker? I'm guessing it does but how do i tell which goes where?

Thanks people, remember patience is a virtue!
