Sickest FD I have seen!!! FULL CARBON BODY!!

So i got my new issue of Import tuner and was flipping through the pages. They profile on the cover a S2000 boooo and a g35 fully raced out, pretty sick but have no mention of this jewel hiden within. Though id post it up and see what you guys think this thing is so sick lol. Tried to take the best pictures I could.

Mazda Motorsports still has CF body kits.

About $12k, if you race.

Does it mention how much that car weighs? What does it run in quarter mile? I'm assuming it's a drag car.

Well after reading the article he won the 2005 SCCA Nationals but the second place driver complained that his car was not legal. I guess the weight minumum for the rx-7 is 2650 his car weighed 1950 and he added the correct amount of weight to it to make it legal but i guess he didnt have a 10lbs piece of steel in the right place to make the car legal for crash reasons i guess so he got dicquilified after winning and the second place took the title. Good news is that he went back corrected the problem and went back for the 2006 season and took first place. Specs on the car hes making 460whp 380lb-ft torque with a street ported 2 rotor and a gt35r. Chasis after everything weighted in at 1950 then he had to start adding the 700 to the right areas for handling to make the car weigh legal.

No offence, this is a awesome car (Complete carbon fiber body) Jesus that mst have taken a lot of love. But for some reason I like carbon fiber to be minimal, this car is cool, because it is completely carbon fiber, but the cars that rool around with the front fenders, hood, etc. I think it looks a littl weird.

+1 on this car tho, what a work of art.

Lotus weight, Mazda style and engineering... sweet.

^^^^ I agree with what you said about carbon fiber to a minimum but when i saw that is was complete carbon fiber and this guy made the chasis himself in his garage after only 20 hours of welding classes and he helped make all the panels and holds the rights to all the molds. They mentioned that he might produce more body panels and they are all removable within seconds for access to any parts of the car whenever. That is just way too sick.

The 4.77 gears must make all the difference unless he has the small .85 A/R cause my CRX is more fun on SoloII then my RX7.

Thumbs up

if its a 5 speed with 4.77 gears and 460whp and its weight is 1950

it should run 10.23@146mph

just get a bigger turbo about 540 would get you a 9.81

total sweet car!

Wow that FD is sick! I love CF but know that I personally have no use for a full car in it. Props to who ever did it! How much is the weight difference?

There is very little FD left in that thing. Interesting that they kept the shock towers.

I've seen that car in person, it was very well put together. This thing was faster than shifter karts around most autocross courses. The new owner got a smoking deal, if you ask me.
