RX8 tags the outside of a turn @ Virginia International Raceway and nearly hits a corner worker station!

I just noticed at the end that his steering wheel comes off

 

That was awesome, I can't tell you how many times I've done that on the track here in nashville, the sides are always lined with gravel, Next thing yo know you are spinning..lol. Glad everyone was unhurt.

nice. i can imagine the thoughts he was having when he spun back around and saw the wood structure.
do you know the driver? did he just lose focus (i guess to go off in that spot)?

 

Looks like he didn't quite know were the track was over that small hill and got a little surprise.

 

If you review the video, you will notice that a car is coming on to the track from the pits and the RX8 moves over to make room, causing him to drop the left side onto the grass. I think when he did this, he overcompensated and around went the car.

 

Damn that RX8 sounded good!

 

That NASA or SCCA sanctioned racing?

 

I'm sorry I would have pissed my pants if I saw an RX8 slidding at me at 100+ MPH

Damn! I'll bet that corner worker was a little concerned for a bit.

 

Yea, it looks like it's got a digital mini-dash too.. Someone spent some money on that car.
