Randomly spotted the Apex Drift Car
I was going to an appointment in a surburban Philadelphia industrial park last week. It's no place special - basically a place with a lot of small to mid-sized businesses and a couple of auto shops. Winding my way back through the park - I see what looks to be the Apex drift car parked amongst some other tuned cars (Civics and WRX's).
I go to the appointment and the whole time I am thinking how I want to get out of there and go back to check out that shop and figure out how that awesome car ended up all the way out here. I've only seen it on TV...
Well I did get there as they were closing up but they were really nice and we talked for a while. The shop is owned by an old Itallian husband and wife. The wife knew more about cars than most of my friends. Apparantely they are friends with the Apex team and are storing the car before it goes to a show in VA in a week or two. The name of the shop is called Impo Performance.
Some cell phone pics:

Oh - did I forget to mention they have a 7 second Mazda 6 there too?

That's a Garret turbo and she told me there is a Motec ECU running this thing. It's a total beast.

The boys @ Bergenholtz racing now own the car. Or at least...seem to be, as Apexi retired that FD.

Everytime I've been to a drift show when Immamura was in the Apexi FD, it was a RHD car. I remember an article in Super Street and Apexi had 2 of these. One was for competition and I guess this one, was a twin for show. I think Calvin Wan was drifting this one for a short while.
I saw it at Apexi a few times when it was red/white and it was damn cool! It had a fiberglass enclosure in the trunk with a sub, amps, and a tv, that could be pulled out in 5 minutes for competition. All Alpine.

They were really nice people and the one thing that was great is the Grandma owner of the shop that definetly knew more about tuning than me.
