OH Picture and fitment request for new Seibon hood

Morning guys. Bought a new hood for the RX and he asked me how it looked and if fitment was OK/good. Love the hood and fitment was very good (Seibon)

Looks good! How are the vents?

Does the main center vent go all the way to the back? Have you noticed any intake temperature difference?

Hood

Temps are about the same (They have rain channels that make the vents mostly inefective.). I am sure I could remove the rain channels, but I leave the car outside and need to keep them.

I'm sure you read on that other thread that I have a Seibon. The front vent is just for looks as it's just a hole in the front and not ducted to anything.

With my previous setup (PFS med SMIC) I noticed cooler intake temps in the winter (mid 20's C), in the past they were in the 30's with ambient temps 50-55F. With my new large SMIC my new winter intake temps are in the teens. Now on a 70F (25C) day my new intake temps hover in the mid 30's C, with my old SMIC they were in the low 40's.

Vented hoods help with coolant temps as well. I got my hood installed on a hot day here in CA. On the way to the body shop to get my hood installed I saw water temps in the 103C range. Half an hour later (so no change in ambient temps) on the way home and with my new hood, my temps were 98C. 5C difference now that's huge.

Good info thanks!

I am not concerned with rad temps. With my pfc I have never seen more than 86 degrees. I am more interested in lowering intake temps while allowing the hot air out of the engine. Hopefully things won't cook as fast then

Once I get the hood I want to do something like this.....

Obviously the vents are different but I am hoping to ram the cold air in to a box/filters. That has to be better then sucking in hot engine air!
