pic request: vinyled cars!
im looking for pics with ANY kind of car with the ENTIRE body wrapped in vinyl. im looking for ONE single color so as to look like regular paint please. no decals or other **** on it, just one single color over the entire car. i have seen a few pics and i can't tell the difference between that and real paint. just wondering if anyone has seen any.
thanks

Why would you do a body wrap in the same color? It wouldn't cost that much more to just paint the car.
I know the shops around here have gotten over 5k for a body wrap in the past....granted, that was with alot of graphics and colors, but it was all digitally printed so still just solid sheets to wrap without having to layer anything.

i just purchased my vinyl accually. gloss black. has a live of about 5 years. and i bought a 48 inch wide roll (convertible) thats 10 yards long so its going to wrap the entire from front fender to front fender without a single seem line. i also bought 2 rolls of 30inchx10feet gloss black ( hood and front fender) and a roll off 24x10feet (side skirts). the total damage was less then 100 bucks!!!! i have seen some pics of a ferrari that was wraped (i dont ask questions) but it looked amazing in the respect that you could not tell at all that is was wrapped in vinyl.. had the exact gloss of real paint.

oh and im done messing around with paint. to much of a mess, and a headache of a process.. with this i can just to one panel at a time if i want. its a much slower process in that you dont have to put all your eggs in one basket

just a little help, maybe. I imagine that you have the solution stuff and squeegy tools set so I will start from there and you need to start in the middle. No seriously...you need to start in the ceter-most area. Example: try your hood first, nice and flat and a big area. Completely soak hood and vinyl (makes it easyer to move) lay down sheet and start squeegying from the middle (center) and working your way out in every direction. Note: this process takes time and effort, you must be diligent; also, use a shop light from the side, not ceiling, it makes shades making improfections easier to see. Also. any tiny bubble you can remove with pin or exacto knive (poke/slit middle of bubble and flatten. Hope this helps its much like tinting.

still the finish isnt that great...thats why i chose this method...and it basically echos everything that it lays on so i still see ALL of the inperfections on the finish...think i might just try to sell the stuff for cheap and spring for like a 1000 dollar paint job

R.A.O.S.!!!
I read somewhere on another forum that you can wrap a car for about 50 bucks... or so I read.... doing it yourself and all that mess. Also heard from my cousin that it's somewhat possible if you got a good hookup and know what your doing. He was considering doing it on his AE86...

while I'm new to wraps and graphics. its my new job at the moment. You can't just use any vinyl to do this, to do it right anyway. It takes a special low adhesive vinyl with air channels cut into it. 3m makes it, its called control tac. Its great for flexibility and going around corners. Its expensive tho, especially if you laminate it.
