Hey guys,
What do you think of the new 09 STi? I was checking out an article of it at the Tokyo Motorshow and I gotta say I'm digging it the more I see it =P The feature below has a couple of gallery pictures and some pretty good videos on it.

Should have made a 2 door hatchback also. Seems like a good car for the mountains.

This was done because more people that buy the impreza in japan buy the wagon instead of the sedan. Also the reason for the new changes is because toyota took over the design of the new imprezas. My ladies dad is head engineer at honda and also works with toyota and that is what he said to me.

Subarus look uglier and uglier as each generation passes.
WTF happened to the simple front like these:

At first, I wasn't fond of the bugeyes, but damn, ever since the 05 came out...

The GC8 body impreza is by far the best of all the designs... I was REALLY hopeing they would go back to a similar style... the 22b was the pinical of subaru design imo... This new impreza sucks my ***** in looks. I also think the evo IV was the best looking evo.
Ive owned 2 GC8's and the one I have now is going to be getting the full version 5 sti treatment... maybe even a 22b wide body... gotta wait till the FD is done though.

I saw a WRX up close at the Subie dealer a few days ago. I think the 5 door / wagon version is pretty cool. It needs to be lowered and needs some wider wheels but I think it would make a pretty cool looking car in the right color - black or dark gray.

The interior looked pretty good and there is lots of interior space which is nice in a car like that. I loved the space that the hatchback/wagon provides. I could fit my bike or many RX7 parts back there.

Cool car for what it is.

Yeah, I'll agree...but...what is it anymore? I mean originally weren't Subaru's designed as somewhat of a rally car? Now it looks more like something Mom and Dad can take the kids to the park in and Dad can still pretend he has a pair of ***** when the wife isn't around cause the car has a big turbo...I just think Subaru (as well as every other car manufacturer for that matter) is putting performance design in the back seat until the public calms down over this gas economy thing...Leaving the car design to suffer...

Everyone needs to remember that they design the cars around the likes of their home market in Japan. The Eastern world(Europe,Japan,Germany) loves hatches and wagons so they design the cars for that market then tone them done for the USA. They will sell lots more over the pond than they will here so it has to appeal to their largest market to make their profits. I personally liked the 06-07 the best versus the bug eyes and as far as the EVO goes I liked the VIII and IV the best as well. The new one looks to bulky and fat like Kirsty Alley.
Just my .002

Amen Brother! Its literally at the point now where its just annoying...I used to appreciate the car 4-5 years ago before everyone and MY grandmother had one...but now its just played...Typical mods you'll see are...Rims...exhaust...boost controller((MAYBE!!))...and...of course...everyones favorite, from the guys that dont know what HKS is...the third-country looking blow off valve from a company you never heard of that screeches like a crying baby at 2 in the morning every time they get on it and shift...omg...
