Hope this hasn't been posted already...
This is a full race 2011 SCCA RX-7 that we build engines for. All R&D including dyno work for this car is done here at Mazmart by Rick Engman. The Corvette is making around 600 rwhp. The RX-7 driver is Jeff Dernehl of Roswell Outback Automotive in Roswell GA. He owns the car and fabricates most everything on it. He generally kicks *** and has been breaking track records throughout the US.
Enjoy!

awesome watch!!! Excellent driving and duel between the two drivers...the FD driver was faster, the vette just had more power and torque. Kudos to the owner/driver and you guys for clearly building a top notch race car
Awesome video! That was some great racing. Wish Jerry Onks(the ARRC 2010 STO winner) could of been there this year as well, but was involved in a pretty serious wreck at Nationals. I'm sure it would of only added to the fun.
That is a fantastic vid. What chassis rx-7 is this? More details on the engine/trans setup... it definitely wasn't your standard manual gearbox in that thing. How much does the rx-7 weigh and what is it putting out? Sounds great when wound up. I like the checkered flag handouts at the end
man, cant wait till my 600 hp ls2 FD is done, im going to need some track time though before i can compete with those driving skills, nice work by both drivers, i love how you guys kept blowing by that porsche

that was amazing. thanks for sharing!
To bad that FD didn't have enough HP to catch up on the straights, it had the corvette beat at that S turn every time ... just couldn't get the pass after.
The vette made 598 to the wheels.
I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. We should have more videos before long. Jeff is not only a great driver and car builder but his video making skills are good as well. I don't know the camera type but it captured great audio quality.
We just do the engine stuff
.

Its a peripheral port 13B. It does not make much different peak numbers than it ought to. For this race it ran GT2 trim which allowed removal of the intake restrictor. The science is more related to average power or useable power. We build for as much torque as can be squeezed within reason and for longevity, A lot of time is spent on tuning but decades have been spent on exhaust primary lengths, collector designs, injector location, port size, shape and location.
I will see just how much I am allowed to discuss and try my best to satisfy what people would like to know.
Here's a street port we did a few years back running on the dyno:

Please do. I think one of the best things about this forum is not being able to say "look what I can do" but that we can share with eachother our knowledge and help eachother as a community. Great videos and thanks for posting.

that was an amazing race.. and **** that was an amazing driver.
as for torque . isa turbo not allowed? wouldn't that help out with usable torque . or would the reliability loss be tomuch?

THis is amazing .. truely just makes me proud to have an FD... in the works ..
lol .. he's a GT3 classed car right/
is he going to be racing in a season this year? or does he just do time attacks for fun?
