If I was to ever do a motor swap this has shed new light on doing the LS1 swap that’s for dam sure!!! I can’t believe how hard this guy pulls on the viper. It’s almost like the viper hit its brakes.

I've got a healthy respect for anything that moves very, very fast. I like to think of myself as very unbaised when it comes to cars.

Mildly modded Viper with maybe 600hp vs. the TA with over 800. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure who's gonna pull harder. Yeah it's fast but that's like a 400hp FD braging about pulling so hard on a 115hp Civic. Awesomely fast though

It’s been stoked to a 408 and is twin turbo. Need less to say that I don’t care what the argument is, it didn’t take that much money to make that Trans Am fast. There is no way in hell you do that to a 7 and its going to pull like that I don’t care what you say. I'm a die hard rotary fan that’s why I'm here BUT there is no way that you can tell me that a twin turbo LS1 is a bad thing. I have always loved American cars (can’t stand the owners) but like I said before I would not mind doing that motor swap “IF” I ever got rid of the rotary.

Wow, so an almost 7 liter engine with 2 fairly large (probably GT35R-sized) turbos on it is going to be faster than a 1.3L/2.6L (take your pic) turbo motor? Amazing. What the hell do you expect? That's a huge motor.......what do you mean, "there's no way in hell you can do that to a 7 and it's going to pull like that"? I'm trying real hard not to slam you for your ignorance, but maybe you should do a search under '20B GT42R'

Im going to be lead to say that the trans am is on race gas too. Depending on mods on the viper it probably traps close to 130mph. For that trans am to run away from it like it did it would have to be close to like 145mph traps, which i just dont think it can do on pump gas. Crazy fast car though.

The TT LS1 motor that HSC is using made 1000+rwhp on pump gas, just one of the many..

HAHAHAHA my ignorance, that’s rich! If you understood the stupidity of "most" not "all" people on this forum and the **** they say about how there is no way this car or that car could be faster than a 7 than you would understand where I was coming from. All I merely was saying is that with a mildly moded and turboed LS1 VS a equally moded rotary, that the "turboed" LS1 is going to hand it its *** plain and simple.
Now please lets not get into the argument about if "any" rotary can beet up on "any" LS1 because that’s not the case. I'm sure that you all know that there is always a faster car around the next corner. All I'm saying is that the Trans Am is ****** impressive period.
Personal I think my car is going to pull on a Viper just as hard (maybe not that hard but hard non the less) So research isn’t going to help one bit in this case because like I said no matter what car I come up with there is always going to be a faster more bad *** car end of story.

If you didn't want to get into a Rotary vs. LS1 fight then maybe you shouldn't have made a statement saying that a rotary can't pull like that because that statement shows your ignorance. I can build a 12A to pull harder than that TA, it's all about money. Is it an impressive TA? Hell yes it is. Would I love to have that car? ****** a I would. And to say that it's mildly modded is being moddest. For one, it's been bored and stroked to a 408 which isn't just slight work. It probably has cams and reinforced internals along with twin turbochargers, the fuel system, and ECU to manage it all. Not including exhaust and whatever else. Not quite so mild if you ask me

Not mildly modded, by any means, I agree. However, the fact that it pulls like that when it's on 91 octane ****-for-fuel speaks volumes about the advantages of displacement. And if you DO want to get into a (friendly, over-interweb) pissing contest, I'd like to know one person on here who's made 884rwhp@15psi on 91 octane with a rotary-motivated vehicle.

And isn't this a single turbo Firebird? I can't imagine even a 7-liter engine being able to spool twin GT-55s...

Probably 93 ocatne I would say. I wouldn't even want to put 91 100feet from that car fpr fear of a turbo exploding or something LOL. I have no clue if it's twin or single. I don't think it was really specified. You may be able to make that power with a 4 rotor. Don't knolw for sure though. He must go through rear tires once a month at least LOL

Trans Ams are heavy beasts.
I catch a race with one on the freeway every now and again.
I can even keep up in my miata.
But damn that thing pulled like a bat out of hell. And I never use that stupid phrase. LOL

Sorry, in my previous statement when I said mildly modded I wasn’t really referring to this Trans Am in particular I was more or less just making a general statement.

Other than that I have to say you hit the nail on the head. I couldn’t have put it any better myself. Thanks
