just bought it yesterday, very similar to the japanese only version that came out earlier, but by far the best piece of skyline ownage I've ever seen in the touge series, Amemiya put the hurt on the MC-R and it was swwwweeeeeettt

 

What the hell was that first battle? The Rx-8 won because all the other drivers let it. That was ridiculous.

 

^ they often do that when they are reviewing a particular car. they often tell the drivers to "chase" in order to get a good behind view of the car that is being reviewed

After watching that video I am going to have to say i no longer care what any fellow forum memebers think on the future of the RX-7. I at one point thought they may reproduce it, but after years of negativety i fell into the hole and believed it would never be reborn.

Now after hearing that bit at the end where Amemimiya san and the Mazda rep and the drift king talk about a future 7 and more powere and handling i am a believer again.

Hail the 7 and its reserection!!!!!!!!

Anyone know of a linux mediaplayer that will play these? Mplayer won't even attempt it and xine skips frames/no sound.

wine + FLVplayer worth a shot. If you can get a hold of Crossover Office (polished, more capable version of Wine).

oh yea, i love how keiichi takes off his coat when he goes to drift the rx8. haha, he's the man.

 

The highest powered Renesis motor in that video only made 60 hp over stock =(. Is there no hope?!?

 

I finally got to watch the whole thing. Was anyone else's sound off? Arg! That was annoying. I would like to get that movie as well, but I'm worried that that same problem will persist. I'm guessing its not that way on the dvd, I just dont want to waste my money. Anyone have a cure to my q?

oh, and I'm just kidding, it's a sweet vid.

 

i never bought into it, to me the release of the RX-8 was just a "test" to see if people would REALLY still be interested in another rotary powered sports car, its sales did very well so i'm sure there will be a much better RX-7 to come back and reign supreme once again...

and the N/A rx-8's didn't make much over the stock HP, but the turbo'd trust one made over 500whp iirc, but even so the N/A ones only had a couple things done, the one only had a mere exhaust, and the other had an exhaust and 1 or 2 other supporting bolt ons, its not like they were really shooting for a ton of power or anything, just trying to boost its pull a little bit... the touge battles were awesome, its funny how the MCR barely beat out an FD to become monster to begin with, then another FD comes and embarass's it :P, awesome stuff...

thanks for the video, it kept me up all nite rewatching certain parts of it haha, and now i'm gonna have to go out and buy it , damn spending money...

 

Ok i just got the dvd like 2 days ago. It was pretty good. Not really like oooo aaahhhh..

I wish they would of shown more FD's to compare but it sucks, only fd they showed was the first one and it was raining during that race. The driver of the FD wanted to stay in the back and watch the others. O and the RE fd but that was touge.
