hardwiring power inverter

ok i have been looking for a few days now, what is the best way to hardwire a power inverter into a car. or should i spend the $100 and buy the power inverter from crutchfield that you have to connect to your battery. dont really want to spend alot of money hooking up a power inverter. any help would be great, also pictures.

I assume you have the inverter that plugs into the cigar lighter. If you want it powered only when the ignition is on, run the switching wire to the relay off of the + side of the trailing coil and the main power wire directly from the battery.

Pic a relay and inline fuse with appropriate amp rating for the ps2. Fuse the wire coming off of the battery and take the ground wire back to the battery also.
