First Time Drag Racing

First drag race. I'm in the close lane. It was against a modified Cobalt. You can see from the video I started way late and had to do some catch. My launch also sucked I pulled a 2.25 60'. I was able to run once more after this run and pulled a 12.7 @113.5 and a 2.15 60'. I am only running 225's on rear though so it was sliding around abit.

I think if you get some stickier tires on that thing you will drop down a significant amount more. Nevertheless your two runs were damn fast. I was really impressed with your car.

With better 60ft times, a 113 trap speed will get you into the low 12's..Did you try lowering your tire pressure in the rear to about 20psi?? I have experience racing AWD cars but I would think a 2.0 is about as good as you will get with stockish tires, so you're not too far off..If you post the full timeslip it will tell more of the story though..Regardless, you did an excellent job for your first time..

I was running 25 psi on the tires. No warm up or clean off as I'm not too good at the burnout thing. I may have to practice at least to do a clean off. What kind of horsepower should I be putting down with these times? Any advice would be appreciated.

How much does your car weigh??
I'd say you are making about 330WHP or so but I'm not sure how much FD's weigh..

Good question. Not exactly sure what the weight is with me and gas. May have to go to metal salvage and find out. Any thoughts on how much would be possible to shave off?

FD's weigh 26-2800 lbs depending on mods. I also think he's making in the low 300s at the wheel. Good job, keep it up, and it you get a decent hook you're definitely in the low 12s.
