Early 90s Sportscars: FD versus Ferrari F40 etc on Tsukuba
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I thought this was an interesting video of how a stock Series 6 FD compares to some cars of the same era.

If you look at the time attack numbers though, it shows the FD to be faster than the R32 GTR and 270 hp NSX (we know that). One noticable thing was that the FD was able to go into turns much faster than the RUF CTR (this is also pretty obvious).
The MR2 only did so well because he blocked most of the time anyone could pass. There's only so many places to pass realistically at Tsukuba which makes it hard to do when he dives infront.
Like Aristo said, if you look at the time attack numbers he didn't get really any better compared to the race time.
It would have been a better race overall if the MR2 wasn't even in it. That would have made it a good race between the rest, besides the F40, by looking at the time attack numbers.
Edit: i actually just looked again at the numbers and the MR2 did slightly worse at the time attack.

whats funny is... If i remember from the vid, the f40 only runs like a 1:05 at the track. A FD with some suspension mods, making maybe 400hp, will run close to a 1 min flat. So sure the f40 is a amazing car compared to the other cars in stock form, but I with some pretty inexpensive mods, the f40 wouldnt be hard for them to take
i have a friend with a lm F40 if you think that f40 is insane youve never seen the le mans version :p.
im in the passenger seat.. im loading up the other pictures i have of it now..
and theres a picture of my dads car hitting 180.

Your friend must be a major baller, as those things are worth ~$800k US in good condition. Any pics?

That's not a Prosche. It's a RUF CTR Yellowbird!!! UUUMMMmmm 550whp from the factory. RUF made enough changes to the Porsche that they were allowed to call it their own car. Great vid!

search for "supercar battle" on youtube, outta the 5 videos there is an f40 vs f50 vs skyline vs diablo. sweet sound too! stock fd doesn't stand a chance. 276hp market agreement was what made fd's legendary to me though. it's like barry sanders in the nfl, he retired b4 he broke the rushing record. no need to. 2 cents.
