In-Car footage from the Hoopa Hillclimb!

Check out the hillclimb footage! My old scrapheap took 1st place in CSP for the 3rd year in a row! At this point, I'm only 2 seconds off the all-time class record.

My best run:

Blue TII really jumped in and helped with motivation, setup and lots of parts! Thanks extra for the "couch", man!

This makes me hate Va even more. We don't have any cool roads like that around here.

Hoopa? Where are all the indians! I used to flyfish all over that place as a kid on the Klamath.

Exactly where was this held? I'm down in Corning, and this looks like it may be a fun event to try....

BTW, nice effort!

Same here. We don't have much for curvy roads in my area. Hardly anything actually. I have to drive a few hours just to find a good one. Downside to living in a flat part of the country.

Hey Guys, thanks for checking out my thread! The Hoopa hillclimb is an annual event in late July. The Hoopa tribal council is nice enough to let us close Pine Creek Rd on the edge of town for the duration of the weekend. The locals turn out in good numbers to watch us race, and most of the comunity is fairly welcoming.
The course layout is 2.2 miles long, gains 1100 feet of elevation and, depending who you talk to, has 22-29 turns. My best run to date is 2:36. Last year's winning run was a 2:39 and the year before that was 2:40. This is my big chance to beat up on the CSP Miatas!
Unfortunately, this will be my last year racing the hill as a local, since my wife and I will be moving to Fort Collins, CO in a few months. On the upside, it looks like there are some amazing mountain roads out there!

Well, being a mountain state, I assumed you would have awesome mountain roads all over the place. Doesn't anyone do (paved) hillclimbs out there?
