To be honest, the EU is centuries behind japan and the US for FDs.I might see one every 10 weeks on the roads over here in Dublin. The UK would be the leading FD country in europe.I think in the irish rotary forum there are about 20 members!!!!Just a few reasons why I joined the US forum and everyone has been real helpful with my questions no matter how dumb my questions are!!!!!

In Belgium only 19 were sold, and only in 1994. Probably only half of that still running and I sold mine to France last year.

On the other hand.. almost any FD in Europe you'll find, will have mods...

Ok, how many are running 9.1s at 158 or faster with factory suspension, manual gearbox, etc. in the US. I'd say thats one of the faster FDs anywhere in a streetable trim ie. no tubs, 3 speed trans, ladder bars blah blah stuff.

Not sure what you mean, thats a ridiculously small number. I think there are somewhere around ~30K members on this forum. Given that, those individuals making similar numbers probably aren't running consistent 9s. rx7.com, jigsaw, pfs, and erinT is close with a low 10 pass are all I can think of without being a pure drag car.

Not trying to be an ***, just saying thats impressive anywhere.

to run 9.1 @ 158 you need more then 600whp. that is a pretty fast fd especially if it is stock bodied and all. here are some to compare on dragtimes.com

That's a good point!I've seen this car.The guy who owns it runs an rx7 and 8 shop in the south of england.I was over there and he has it on display. He had to cut the hood out a bit so the turbo would fit in it!its ******* huge!!!the car has even passed tests to be even street legal. He still has a lot of factory parts on it aswell!!!The only thing is I purchased an hks ssqv bov and a straight through system from him and it wernt cheap!!!I think its very impressive!

looks to me like he's running quite a large tire on the rear for stock body. It also just doesn't sound the the gearing of the stock FD, first gear sounds very long, second through 4th sound very short.

If you use the calculator on that site, it comes up with about 690hp as an estimate for the power needed. Take say 12% for drivetrain estimate and you are around 600whp.

im just going by what i see on the dragtimes site and on here. 600whp gets you a high 130's trap, lupe was running somewhere around there with 603whp. ernie has a 700+ hp fd and he traps 144 i dont know if he is on the low side or not. maybe im looking in the wrong direction... but a 160mph trap is crazy fast.

That car is making way more than 600rwhp as others have said simply judging by the trap speed.

With a true racing transmission he has the MPH to run some 8's with ease. It says he is cutting 1.3x 60' times!!!! Wowza.

I wonder what it weighs with driver?

The thread does say 600+, not necesarily 600 on the dot. Without a dyno sheet, it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense though to argue about it.

Who cares? Dyno sheet, or not. 600 horsepower or 800 horsepower. That thing is insanely fast. I wouldn't ride in that car if my life depended on it.

We tend to see dyno numbers 50 + hp lower in the UK than the numbers you guys state in the US. Don`t know why maybe it has something to do with set up of the dynos or something, even some of our lower hp cars make similar times to your higher hp ones, althought there arnt many that can compete your deffinatley ahead of us
