2JZ in a 3rd gen
I think his main focus was on Parts and not actual labor. In reality, a piston engine is a piston engine with the same basics and knowing the basics makes things more easier.
The comparison between buying parts for your 13BT and a 2JZ turbo are not that far off and also keep in mind the actual amount of power you will make from the part. I think that's the direction he was headed and I do agree with..

Also, its an engine that is no longer in production. At least with the LSx swaps, your not trading off any weight for the power/reliability, and it is still an evolving market with new parts coming out and lots of aftermarket/GM support. I think with the 2JZ you are going to be in the same boat as the rotary, a niche market with expensive parts that youd need to special order and are expensive. I would rather stick with the 13B or do a mild 20B, but thats all just personal preference.
