1Gen 12" subs Audio install photos

I have 2 layers of sound martial in front and 3 in the rear of the car.
I just cut the storage box frames, got ˝” OSB, cut out the 12” holes with a Harbor Freight rotozip $20. Lay the DiamondTuck over the board but don’t staple it yet.
There was like 20 test fits then thin sound foam on the metal storage box frames.
45 sheet metal screws in to the board and then stapled my DiamondTuck around it.

It took the day to get it right. I stuffed SubFoam in the storage box holes.
Now I got Subs that hit you in the Back….Hard!!!!…Awesome! It’s so cool and my girlfriend loves it.

Questions? I will answer ya back.

I know you probally expected a response like this, the subs would be much more effective pointing to the back of the car. I used to want my stereo setup like yours but pointing at the back of the drivers/passengers heads but my local stereo shop explained to me how the soundwaves travel. I would NEVER have thought they would sound louder facing the back of the car but it makes a world of difference.

Honestly I would say the sound is just about twice as loud from when changing the direction the subs are facing. Especially in a small hatchback like the rx-7 the sound waves bounce everywhere making your music louder. I have 2 12" clarion Pro audio subs in my car and although they are not top of the line drivers they are VERY loud for what they are and can compete against much more expensive systems.

I really like the looks of the way you have your subs placed though it looks like you did a good job and took your time.

They sure do sound better when they are turned to the back of the car I have 2 12" in a box and after turning them around to face the back I noticed a huge difference in sund quality.
