hahahahahaha reminds me of the Bandag Bullet, except the semi in that video is still powered by a diesel engine

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...=bandag+bullet

IIRC the Bullet was powered by two big block V8s that each had a supercharger and two turbos.

the truck shotting flames out of the stacks is my formans

you should hear the quick truck idle. sounds like a huge cammed v8, rocks the entire truck

also, when he moves around the pits it bounces off his limmiter, *vrrmm* *pop* *pop* *pop* *pop* *pop*

sounds badass, i have more video's of it somewhere

4000+ftlbs of tq is what the techs told me it made

another thing i remember, they had a 50gal tank mounted behind the cab that they filled using the trucks onboard air.

when launching the vented the air into the intake to aid with turbo spool (atleast thats how they explained it to me)

the turbos compressor housing on that trtuck had to be 20-22+ across.

That race was filmed @ new england dragway in epping nh, the owners/tech live in canada and drove it down for new england dragways "trucks" event. the vid your seeing is some fun the Canadians and my forman were having on a friday night street night

well thats what the tech told me, and wtf do you mean 'only 4000' sit back and think about that

tranny seemd to hold up, the last pass of that night though you could smell burning clutch bad, the driving said it was slipping bad, but they had spares

well i know 4000 isa not a small number at all... But considering many already come with 3000 to 4000 .... its not a big gain... But i bet it was mroe than 4000 anyways...

oh oh and semi's top out at 80- 85mph... so 97 is a big acomplishment..

they probably have some kind of eaton 5-speed, or 6-speed heavy duty transmission. The motor/ecu is probably chipped w/ something for the diesel aftermarket. The tranny and axle locks do wonders for the big trucks. And yea, technically it's a 10-wheeler and probably an 18-20,000 lb. truck, unless they've removed a bunch of weight.

not sure what the come with, however it was a 1000cubic inch inline 6 western star, and the guy who tunes/works on it told me it had aprox 4000ftlbs of tq

that semi has been over 100mph countless times running a low 13sec quarter. my formans mac which was also in that video has more than enough gear to get over 100mph

it was a 10speed iirc, i know it had a split range. you could hear it during the pass's around 800feet

they were heavly sponswered by hypertec, i dont know what ems they were running but they did have complete control

they probably locked all 8 rears, i never asked

dont think they removed much, it was a full cab + sleeper with a reciver legal in atleast ME, VT, NH, NY and whatever canadian regs are

in that case... he probably launched in 4th, shifted to 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th a 4 or 5-speed setup would do wonders for this kind of deal. But that's probably not practical because this is probably a work truck as well.

I've seen a few dual, and even 3 turbo setups on some big trucks.

i counted 7 gear changes and he probably launched in 2nd not 4th, 3rd maybe, but 4th even for a rig that would be hard to do... and he also probably bypassed a few of the lower gears since they are not needed with no weight to haul.

There was another video around also of a high 12 sec 10 wheeler daily driver. The owner said he had like $20 k into the motor and was basically a blueprinted stock motor with bolt on's.
