What makes the rtek a good chocie?

I was wondering what makes this a good choice? And would the 2.0 version be a good choice for my stock(for now) s4?

I can rant on about the advantages, but it's really up to your goals and what you want to do that would depend on what ECU would work for you.

http://www.digitaltuning.com/?pid=rtek7 has all of the info you need on the features of Rtek ECUs.

What makes it a good choice? It's plug and play, no need to make or have a new engine harness built. It's very cost effective for what it can do. It's very easy to use.

Tuning is very easy! You can log a wideband, and just tune on the go.

There isn't really any reason to upgrade for a stock car. But if you plan on making upgrades you cant beat this for flexablity and price.

I was running a stock T2 with a RB full exhaust an SAFC and a Fuel cut Defensor. Got the Rtek. Ditched the SAFC ( which is nowhere near as tunable) and the FCD. When I pluged in my PLX wideband I noticed that I could use a touch more fuel, as i was overboosting to about 12-13 psi instead of the 10 i should be. So I added 720s all around. one click and I was done. Didn;t even change the fuel curve. Now I have a BNR stage two to put in, and I know that I can support that as well.

so as I am looking for 350-380 with a gt35r and 550/1600 can the 2.0 be a safe bet as I am running a wideband and doing a street tune with a WBo2 till I get it on the dyno to a good tuner. Ive been bouncing around from haltec(may be overkill in my mind) to e-manage and would like some solid reasons why the rtek can be as effective as the others without all the fancy bells and whistles that I probably wont use for way cheaper. I just want to know that I will be able to fine tune my injectors to make my power goal reliably with emphasis on response.

u need to spend some time and read about EVERY item on the Rtek before u begin to jump into one. it seems like you have alot to learn about the Rtek. just read the whole digital tuning website and you'll get a good idea of what is needed and what your gonna have to do to tune.

Yes, you just need a PDA and the Hotsync cable. They have a list of what PDAs work on the web site. I started with the palm V which cost me about $20 off of ebay. I got the cable from Digital tuning.

Set up is really easy. It plugs right back into the stock wires, no need to cut or splice anything, as it is a modified stock ECU. Now if you want to, you can use some of the wires for other things(wideband for one) and this will require some re-wire. It basicly involves cuting a wire and having the ECU use this for an imput or output Example, right now I have my atmo sensor disabled, and I use my wideband in that location. Just cut the atmo wire and attach the wideband. Later, with the new update, you will have a few more choices.

Remember no rewire is required, your car will run fine just pluging the new ECU in.

As far as the palm pilot goes, it plugs into a serial connector on the side of the ECU. Once its connected settup is pretty easy.
