"unsupported parameter id 253" and "unexpected table size"
I get these two errors. I bought the rtek last month and it is the 2.1 version on a s4 turbo.
When in the fuel and timing maps, I will frequently get the error message "unexpected table size." Also, I get the message "unsupported parameter id 253" when trying to open my log files.
It took me about 10 hours total to input my timing maps. The computer would hang for 15 seconds or so randomly after getting the "unexpected table size" message. This would sometimes happen every other cell I would work on. Also, the ecu configuration would randomly reset to the stock values, leaving me to re-input everything once again.
I contacted DTI about 3 weeks ago about the log problem. I believe they are still working on it. I am leaning towards a problem with logging the wideband o2 sensor through the var res input. However, I don't have a problem reading logs on the palm or viewing the wideband on the palm. I am really baffled.
Has anyone else experienced these problems with rtek? Hopefully I can figure these

The unsupported param error we are still working on. Unfortunately the viewer was written by a customer so we are at his mercy. He is aware of the issue and is working on it.
As for the unexpected table size, sounds like a communication problem. I believe you have an open help ticket for both these issues so replies will be there.

I use to have that table size issue when entering values also. I just figured it was my palm because the sync cable was loosing contact on the device. So i switched to a newer palm and i haven't had that issue since then.
I think Turbo2ltr is right about it being a communication error.

I was changing my timing maps this morning and it would keep saying that the there was an "unexpected table size" if I went to fast. I got it to go away by just waiting 3 seconds in between changing each cell. Took a long time, but worked in the end. Even still, the next time I go to tune it, it would be nice to be able to go at my own rate and not have to wait for the software. How do I check to see if I have the latest software?

Is that an M515 PDA?
There is something very wrong with it. I've never seen it move so slow navigating the table like that. Does anyone else's Palm do the same thing? That would drive me nuts.
www.pocketlogger.com/xd9/rtek.mov
See around 0:13, and again at 1:25. how slow the table scrolls. Even on the slowest palm, a M100, the tables should slide right over very quickly.
Do you have anything else installed on the Palm? Any hacks?
I know this isn't the problem you are concerned about, but I have a feeling it might be related.

...I'm kinda glad you're surprised too because I found it frustrating at how slow this software or palm was. It's an m515 I got off ebay for $35, maybe I'm getting what I paid for?
I pretty much opened it up out of the box, charged it, then downloaded the pocketlogger software. Nothing else.

I would probably try a full factory reset and reinstall.
Follow the directions for a hard reset and select "erase all data"
http://www.digitaltuning.com/?pid=faq_pda_reset
(note that this erases anything you have saved on the Palm. If you hotsync before the reset, your maps and logs will be saved to your PC. If it's something you want to keep, you should copy them out of the backup directory and store them someplace else on your computer before proceeding. They aren't safe in the backup directory)
After the Palm boots, hotsync. Your PC will ask you to select a user from the list or create a new one. DO NOT select the old one from the list, create a new one.
Once that is complete, install the Rtek software again (making sure you select the new username in the Palm Install Tool) and hotsync again. See if it helps.
