Does the rtek 2.1 fit my needs?
Currently my car (87 t2) is bone stock except for:
- RB Rev TII exhaust system
- RB FCD
- Ported wastegate (Bought the car, unsure how big the port is)
- Defi Blue racer boost gauge
Recently my car has been excessivly rich, so 1st things first the a/f wideband is on the way. Next comes the fuel management, so I was thinking of getting an safc. Until I heard of the rtek's capabilites and thinking I should just get her done right. For probly 2 months the car will remain stock, until the funds come in for a BNR Stage 2 or 3 turbo.
As the turbo comes in, these parts are going in:
- BNR stage 2 or 3 turbo
- 750cc secondaries
- Walbro fuel pump
- Boost controller
- FMIC
- BOV
- Koyo rad
- E-fan
- Stock primaries cleaned
The plan will be safe boost levels on stock primaries, such as 8psi maybe 10 if i can get away with it.
I'm sure the rtek will come in handy when the above is on the car. But on a bone stock t2 is the car going to see any benefits? Or am I just spending the money on the rtek too early?

Also you get the additional bonus of knowing specific error codes that come up from time to time. You no longer have to guess and count the blinking LED's and you'll be able to tell exactly what is wrong with the car from inside the cabin.

I agree the 2.1 is FAR superior to the SAFC. What wideband are you ordering? If you get the right one, you can monitor/datalog the AFR levels with your palm pilot.
You can use the rtek to see what your injectors are fireing at. Maybe you have a malfunction that is causing a long injector pulse. If not one injector may be stuck open. That happend to me and you couldn't even stand behind the car when it ran. total gas out.
other plusses(sp?) for you
You can sell the FCD
You will get the Exact boost you are running through the palm although the defis are good
For a few months you tune it in to what you have now, then if decide to up the boost because of the ported waste gate, you just retune and your off.
If you go to 720 secondarys, just a few clicks and your done, its that easy.
BNR upgrade, well, retune.
In my opinion the RB exhaust you have and the Rtek 2.1 are the best options you can get for the T2s.

Sounds good, i'll be getting the rtek in the next week. I figured it was far versitile to the safc, but just wanted to get more opinions.
Do I need to do any tuning when I get the rtek? Or do they set it for perfect stock levels? I'm thinking I need to lean out or do something with my injectors cause the richness is just ridiculous. My friend told me when he drives behind me he gets a huge head rush because he gets really high off of exhaust fumes. I know rotary's are bad on gas but right now its just horrific. I noticed when I pop the hood while its running and just sniff around I can smell gas so maybe one of the injectors are leaking. I will be checking out the injectors soon. The mileage is pretty bad too, I get about 250km to a tank, starting twice a day, and light on the gas pedal.

I'm not sure which wideband to get yet, it will either be the plx or innovate. I can't make a decision yet.
Innovate: $399

PLX: $255

As for tuning, you will need to set your injectors and what not and select the ATP input (or use the stock sensor) and you'll be good to go. I would not recommend tuning it until you have a WBo2

I have the innovate coming my way, but I only spent 289 for the LC1... Just me though, I didn't get anything fancy like the XD16 gauge. But both the Innovate and the PLX are good Widebands.

I would assume WBo2 means wideband o2? If it does then yea I was planning on having it before the rtek.

You can pick up the LC1 with a gauge for 289. You can spend a little extra (I think 350) and get the LC1 with a really fancy/nice gauge. You can just buy the LC1 for like 189 or something without the gauge.

We'll see about that one. I just hook up my palm to my ecu and I get comments like "That's awesome! What do the numbers mean? How do you make your car go faster?" ETC. TO which i respond: That's how the car talks to me.
