Bluetooth Adapter

I kinda missed the boat on the bluetooth adapter that Digital Tuning used to sell... I have found adapters online for RS232 to Bluetooth, including ones that are powered by the port itself.. My question is, is the adapter Digital Tuning used to sell powered by the data cable coming off the ECU or did it require external power? What might the specs of the adapter be? I guess I'm worried about damaging the ECU.

It was externally powered. I had one when it came out. The only good thing about it was that it eliminated the constant disconnecting that the palms were prone too due to cable movement.

I surprised someone is still using an RTEK...there's a name I haven't heard in years.
