batteries dead had to reload rx7logger
Sup guys, I usually try to check my palm once a week if i have not used it to make sure the batteries are not dead, But i neglected it and lost all data.
I re-loaded the software onto the palm but now my concern is if i plug in my ecu will I lose my tune? and have to get re-tuned or will it learn what was programed when i got it tuned.
god dam palm,
Is there any palm out there that don't run on tripple a batteries or use them as a back up or even have a real off function? not just turning the screen off?
I'm using an m 100

It doesn't matter if the batteries die. Replace them, load the software again, plug it into the ECU & you'll see all your settings are the same. What Palm uses AAA batteries anyway? My M515 has an internal rechargeable battery, so I just leave it on the dock all the time.

I'd recommend replacing the internal battery, which is probably over ten years old at this point. New ones can be found on ebay and amazon. It's a tedious process, but worth the effort.
If you insist on AAA battery capability, pick up a Palm m125. It's faster than the m100, but has a higher contrast greyscale screen compared to the earlier AAA-powered Palms (such as the Palm VII).
But if you're going to spend money on a different model, I'd recommend a color Palm. I find these easier to read than the greyscale LCD models.
One other thing you can do is save your data and programs to an SD card. You still need to use Palm Desktop to do the initial setup, but afterwards backing up and transferring data is easier, IMHO. The Palm OS doesn't include a file browser (truly ingenious design), so you'll have to add that as well.

God to know i can just plug it back in and retrieve my data.
