VA 6 port na turbo using rtec as management

I heard a rumor awhile back that if i was to switch my vacum sensor with a t2 boost sensor and the na afm with a t2 afm, i could use rtek to tune for boosting an 86 gxl for boost. I was just wanting some input on this topic

The MAP, AFM and ECU should all match. i.e. don't mix a turbo ECU with one or both NA sensors or vice versa.

k cool thanx guys. also (3rd and final7) what comp are you running 9.4 or 9.7. I have a S4 car with a S5 block we modified the lower intake manifold to fit the the S4 middle and upper intake. i'm already running t2 secondary injectors and pump would i really need to run the t2 primary's as well

If you run the rtek 2.1 you have selectable injector choices. Just for fun I hooked my 2.1 up to my 6 port NA. I used a TII map and AFM and it fired up just fine. It wouldn't idle but I figured that much. I just wanted to confirm that the ecu was working.

I have an rtek 6 port tuning question.

You can mess with timing and plug in your injector size. Could you run a slightly larger injector than what you programed in and keep the base timing for those injector sizes but bump fuel up via safc to compensate for higher compression?

I was planning on building my entire system around an rtek, 550/680, safc, wideband, egt, and boost gauges PRIOR to boosting. I also WILL run aux injection. I want my car to be fun, easily tunable and most of all, SUPER RELIABLE as it will see track time once or twice a month as well as get me back and forth to work.

I was going to do an engine swap (non rotary) for reliability reasons but proper tuning, common sense and proper care can help a turbo rotary go a long way.....and i'm getting a backup car/daily.

I'm hoping to get some answers/insight/questions on my system.

I haven't decided what turbo setup i want to run yet but the cheap bastard in me says oem kouki turbo and manifold.

Edit: My power goals for any car is 250-350 power range. I can't get that with a stock turbo but i'm hoping rtek and the safc/meth can support it down the line?

if you plan to get a 2.1 , why would you use an SAFC ? there's no point...

you can adjust the variable resistor function (if you are s4) to lean out the idle. During normal cruising the O2 sensor will help lean out the mixture. Under WOT you can use the Rtek's fuel maps to make whatever adjustments are necessary.

The SAFC is just going to confuse the engine load readings to the Rtek.

That's what i figured. I guess people were using rtek and an safc with the earlier/base versions of the rtek system.

2.0 is what i'll go with. How would i squeeze more fuel out of injectors larger than the rtek selects? Say if i wanted to run 550-1000 or 550-850.....?

you would select 550/720 and then you may actually have to lean it out.

Alright!!!!!!

Thank you.

I was a bit worried i wouldn't be able to support 300-350hp on one of these if i so choose.
