Why are 2nd gens COOL? because I have like a houndred
The truth of the matter is this; Rob as well as you did (and I am in no way bringing you down) you were on what I would call a just ripe set of "R" compounds. I am sure you will disagree with me and tell me they were crap. From my observation by comparison to just about anyone else there you had the best tires for the occasion. In the right hands "R" compounds are said to be good for up to another 4 seconds at IRP (over street tires). In chucks defense steel belts hardly qualify as "R" compounds. And no offense Chuck that cars suspensions needs some serious sorting out. To be Honest you were really fast and I am almost shamed. Why Shamed? Even if my 2nd gen was running “used” 7 year old factory supplied tires I still should have schooled you way harder than I did. I will be the first to admit I honestly ran out of talent floating around some of those turns. On a side note, those Michelins despite their age were amazingly quite (with virtually no road noise) and delivered a very comfortable ride despite the weather conditions.
Secondly, I think we can all agree that racing is basically all about money. The proper preparation and equipment directly determines the outcome. The key factor is the amount of money you are willing to invest in your car. I will be the first to admit I have put way to much time and effort into my car (oh yea and lots of money). I have seen movies were the hero is a poor bastard that can win with anything you put him in but they are just that “movies.” The idea of a poorly funded and under prepared car defeating one that is just the opposite is just like a movie in that it is purely fictitious. Before we start comparing talent we should start comparing wallets. I know mine is empty and Rob I can tell by looking at your car that yours is to. Jokingly or not you insist on comparing your car with chucks rx-3. There is a rather large difference between Chuck’s Rx-3 and our cars. I know this is hard to believe especially after about 3 gears when you wonder were its gone (you can hear it but you can’t see it type of thing) but the Rx-3 was funded with Chuck’s spare change (selling parts and stuff). Unlike you and I chuck has not put every thing he makes into “his” car. From what I have noticed Chuck has put about 7 times more effort helping everyone around him instead of preparing “his” car. Unfortunately when it came down to the wire and chucks car was in need of assembly very little of the vages that received assistance in their time of need were there to help Chuck. I commend chuck on his efforts and wish that he could only get back half of what he puts into his friends cars. I think the tides might be very different if chuck did not have to act as a Rotary Credit Union for Fort Wankel. Rob, supporting your car is hard enough right? Think about your effort and multiply that by 7 cars now you know what chuck feels like.
I am just joking around though so take no offense.
Just to be clear I'm definitely joking about me running out of talent part.
Oh yea, and lets all chill out next event is Putnam Park (YAAAAY)

i'm not trying to step on anyones dick here, i'm just stating my opinions here. i did not once down chuck for what he has been trying to do lately. all i'm saying is that since the first day that he got the rx3 he has been saying that he was going to "own all" in his new toy and as of right now his suspension still needs a big hug. so i'm just enjoying winning the first battle, of what in sure not to be that last by any means. i'm also very pleased that chuck shook my hand and told me i did a good job after the weekend was over with, that did meant a lot to me. so lets not all get our panties in a bind here, its all about having fun and messing with eachother along the way a little.
with that said lets all just have fun. and look at it this way...ryan has like 2 grand in his whole car and he still go out and tear it up with us and love every second of it, so lets not even begin getting into the money side of things
PS my tires were like riding around on grease ***** after about two laps..so they weren't as good as you might of thought.

Aww, c'mon Chuck, we're just having a little fun
Floorjack, you might be suprised how much of the eight years of karting experience that Rob has transfers over to the real deal. He's fast...
Peace! Love! Track!

An idea I had floating around in my head for next year was a Time Attack Challenge. Not sure how the organizers insurance providers would like the idea. And it certainly wouldn't appeal to everyone. But it would put some of these arguements about who is quicker to bed. From what I understand, for insurance purposes of both those that are holding the event and those that are participating, a "performance driving clinic" like what was held at the Revo frowns upon stopwatches. I'd love to see a dedicated time trial event (if not wheel to wheel racing) at the event next year. Thoughts?

Thanks to all the instructors for a great fun day!! I learned a lot and gained confidence in the car! I'm getting better suspension and tires... trying to get rid of the extra understeer, lets see how I do next time!
