just curious if I have set my goals to high. I know I don't have the power yet but wondering if I has been done and what it took? I plan to up the power and lighten the car by 200lbs. My best pass has been 6.36 but the 60 was off by .07 so figure I need to shave .30.

Not sure on hp but whatever a maxed out gt4094r will make 35psi). Weight is around 2790 w/ me. Plan is to run a small 5 gal tank in back. I have been running 12-15 gal. At track to keep from fuel starvation at launch. So the weight of a tank and 12 gal. Of fuel will shave about 100lbs alone. So just have to find another 100lbs to shave.

Going to run this s475 on e98.

Sounds like you don't get out much, I see it occasionally at the track. Better yet I have a friend that runs 5.7-5.8 2300lb 1st Gen on 28 pounds of boost. Turbo 2 engine and tranny. Just cause you don't see it, doesn't mean it don't exist. Florida and Puerto Rico. Australia...

Yeah, this thread kinda went the wrong direction.

I was more interested in a street car shifting gears with a clutch assisted tranny.

Say 2500lb car that's driven to and from track as I do.

LOL, your right I dont get out much, i'm at the track typically 3-4 nights a week all summer long... You missed what I said, 512 HP cannot, will not, and Cant run that time unless it is 1800 LBS, Unless the rules of math and acceleration, velocity and all that stuff have changed over the past day
I never said It cannot be shifted, or that a 2300Lb or 2600LB car can't do it, But not with that low of HP

To run a 5.7 with a 2600 LB car you will need about 640 @ the wheels

If your friends car only makes 512 @ 28 psi of boost, he needs a new tuner.

Ive seen it done on a t2 tranny first hand, yet again not with 512 HP.......

Ok well 512 hp no I agree with power to weight ratio. I never mention anything about 512 hp though. The car is a 2350 in weight runs 28lbs of boost and utilizes a stock turbo 2 transmission. 5.8 et 1/8 mile. I'm just simply stating facts, the car is a track car not an Fc or FD you drive to the track. I see you deal with JPR! Have a good friend that knows him up North. Well I can vouch theirs better rotary tuners in Florida then up North...

Agree with everything you said except the "need a new tuner" thing. I think boost and HP should not be mentioned in the same sentence.

These 5.9 second and faster stock trans and stock FD chassis? Remember the radio show, Paul Harvey?

and the rest of the story!
