W.t.f. Liberty!!!

Thinking of selling my Liberty built box only because I am sick of getting the run around from them on when its going to be ready. They have had my tranny for almost 2.5 months.

How long were you told? If they are that far behind they need to do some hiring.. When I had them build my first tranny they were spot on. I stayed on Paul calling him every week and he delivered on time. This go around is another story...

You got lucky the first time so I'm assuming its our three, and it was like 4 months or more the last time for me

I could see if it was a complete build but mine just needed 3rd gear replaced and countershaft. I don't have a problem waiting whensomeone says it's going to be done next week but then 3 weeks later I am hearing the same thing. This is really making me think about going auto. I really wanted to run the car on the new turbo and weight reduction and see if I could hit my goal. My current tranny won't shift fr **** with the iron disk so I can't race.

pop the 6 puck back in and buy a used trans or two for back up and go have fun . the stock boxes have proven themselves before and you can still get a trans for a fair price these days.

Yeah, I used to do that. I went through a few stock tranny's. I got sick of replacing clutch disk and preasure plates every few months. Stock trannies would always get hard to shift very quick. I may just go out and slow shift it and see what MPH it can pull. I think it should go 116-17mph in the 1/8th.

I wonder if G force can service this tranny?

Ever thought of going with the t56?
I saw Pettit racing was developing an adaptor for the t56 to the stock fd bell housing.

That was my thinking also. Until i went through four transmission in less then a year and finally bought the doug nash. Wish I would have sold the four stock boxes to help with the cost of the new trans.

This will be the last trans in the car once a few bugs are worked out. Was told it was rebuilt, it was just poorly.

Is it even cost effective to buy a liberty built box? or is it better to save that money and get something like a t56?

I would say it depends on your power if it will hold. Mine at 600ho went 2 years or so. I think it would have went longer with the proper setup. I was Using an iron disk that created a lot of shock to the tranny. I hope the valve I put in helps that. But bottom line is your going to break parts if racing. The liberty box can be built for 2k area if everything you send in is good.
