Urgent Help Please

Well, I just got my 3.5" alluminum driveshaft today and the yoke is not fitting. I have a TII transmission and was told that a beefier chrysler/etc yoke would work and is much stronger. So I told that to the driveshaft shop (Inland Empire drive Line) and they told me yes they could do it. But it appears the outer yoke diameter is too big and will not go into the bearing. So my question is, does anyone know exactly what yoke will work other than the obvious stock one for the TII transmission? I count 25 teeth on the output shaft and I mic'd the outer diameter of the shaft and it was 1.077". I gave these dimensions to the shop and they still got it wrong. I need to know so I can tell the shop tomorrow so they can fix it.
Thanks for any help,

Jarrett

turbo 2 output shaft is definatly the same splines as a dodge/chrystler 1 ton truck.

its a tight fit, you gotta lube it up and its gotta be lined up perfectly straight

Thanks, I'll ask the shop tomorrow which one they used. I lined it up as best as I could several attempts and the bitch would not go in, although I did not try putting trans. fluid on the yoke/splines. I even tapped with a rubber mallet with no avail?

I counted 25, but one of the splines has a keyway slot instead of a spline. I can put the yoke on the splines and move it inward about 1/2" but it seems to stop right at the bearing, that's why I'm thinking the outer yoke diameter is too large?

Alright, someone needs to get their facts straightened out.

Here's what I found out.

TII output shaft is 25spline small diameter.
TII outer diameter yoke hub(smooth surface) is 1.495"

Chrysler 904 auto yoke is 25spline and has outer yoke diameter of 1.560"
This is the yoke the driveshaft shop used on my driveshaft. The yoke difference is - .065". They are now going to grind down the yoke to 1.495 so it will work on the TII trans.

Fact- Dodge truck/3500/ 1 ton will not work accourding to two different well known driveshaft shops and I was told they are way too big.

You have two options on aftermarket yokes for TII trans.
YOu can use the stock aftermarket yoke and use upgraded 7260 u joints.

Or do what I did and use the Chrysler 904 auto yoke and grind it down to 1.495" and upgrade to even larger 1310 u joints.

Anyone else have any other options that they know for fact-first hand experience will work?

If I had a stock yoke I wouldn't be here. I bought the TII transmission from a guy for my rx2 and he didnt' have the stock yoke and since I wasn't going to use a stock yoke there was no need for one. Little did I know. I don't understand.... every driveshaft shop has a specification book that tells every spec known to man on any driveshaft, yoke, u joint out there and they can't figure it out. .

Robert, I spent the last two days with a well know driveshaft shop and we have tried everything to make the Chrysler/dodge truck 904 yoke work. For one the spline of the Dodge yoke is 25 spline with a keyway which makes it a 26spline yoke. The stock outer diameter of the TII yoke is 1.495". The outer diameter of the Dodge yoke is 1.520. However the Dodge yoke did seem to slide onto the TII output shaft but it was very tight and then the further you put the shaft in the tigher it got. We milled the OD to 1.495 and it still binded so we ended up using the upgraded TII aftermarket replacement yoke with the larger u joints(7260 series) With the Dodge/Chrys yoke we were using the massive 1310 series yoke- basically indestructable. So my question to you is what yoke are you refering too because these guys at the driveshaft shop said that the 904 Chrysler yoke is the only one even close to being able to work? Do you have some part #'s you can list because we are very interested on this and would like to make it work?
Thanks,

Jarrett
