Tips for launching on slicks with stock t2 outers?

Hello friends, i have recently put a "ronin speedshop" ford 8.8 exploder IRS diff in my rx7 and was hoping to pick your brains.

I am embarrassed to say i have a v8 in my engine and t56... and apologize for posting in the rotary drag racing forum..

I'm also running poly control arm bushings, MMR camber blocks (almost completely set to positive) i also have TEIN SS coilovers (basically single adjustable "street" coilovers)

The coilovers were rebuilt and i don't know the spring rate..they seem pretty stiff, I have the car set at around stock ride height and i cannot compress the suspension much with body weight. (i'm not sure if this means the springs are preloaded.)

I'm not looking to do any ridiculous launches, this is around 380 whp... (plus some redneck torque i guess)

I've had decent success in the past with an auto trans cranking the compression/rebound on the shocks (remember single adjustment) and it help cut down on wheelhop.

The car also has a pinion snubber as well.

I was thinking of going to the track and trying it out, i hear the t2 outers are very robust and can take a lot... i may go to DSS axles if i need to... i am only a very high 11's car maybe low 12s with 3.73 gears i'm sure...

Thanks for your patience and tolerance of my v8 mistake! :/

Nobody? Fine...

But seriously, what tires are you running? That will have a big impact on how it will react. Seems like ET streets have a good combination of give and grip for stock rear end/axles, but since you've already done the rear and probably want to get serious you might want to go full slick. Run the stock axles till they break then upgrade the bars, then if you break the outers upgrade again or back off your launch a bit.

You've already got all the parts on it, the only thing you can really do is take it to the strip and see how it launches, and play with your 2-step if you have one. Ideally being IRS you're going to want it to squat and stay as planted as possible out past the 60', so if your springs are too stiff you may need to slack off the shocks' compression, or drop in spring rate. From what I've seen around here, it would be easier with double-adjustables. Some of the better TII launches I've seen were actually on bone stock rear suspension, because it's so soft. Getting video and still shots of the suspension during your launch will tell you a lot about what it's doing, and maybe what it wants. You will have less wheel hop with a bias ply tire like the ET Streets than a radial.

I deserved that...ha!

These are Hoosier I believe 26x9.5 or 10.5 d09 or d10 i believe. Full slick.

When i had the 4l60e auto and a 3600 stall, it had wheelhop with the t2 diff even trying to stage on the foot brake.. I ended up swapping to slicks and it would push the car through the brakes trying to footbrake it onto the converter. Flashing it from idle netted an 11.79 @ 117 1.704 with a broken lsd and crappy butnout.

The ronin kit apparently has 4340 bars so those should be ok. The poly control arm bushings helped a lot.

I wonder what guys like the Time Machine t2 car are running for things like toe links and other rear suspension parts.. I need to gopro the rear suspension and find out what's "oscillating" AKA : wheelhop.

I was told by some guys that cranking the dampers (1 way adjustable) would slow down the cycling of the springs more and prevent wheelhop...

I may end up just swapping the rear suspension when i go to the strip...

A friend who works at a hipo shop recommended shoepolish on the pinion snubber to check for contact.

Any recommendations for alignment? (toe and camber)
Any other parts to upgrade?

If i do go with stock style suspension, which dampers are best?
Should i run the racing beat lowering springs that came with my car when i bought it?

Does anybody upgrade "differential / subframe stop washer" that hold the diff and subframe in? they are lined with rubber, i was thinking of burning that off or making some out of a solid piece of steel?

Thanks a million, i really appreciate any insight.
