Let me know if you need any parts as i have all of them and won't be using it..

Only thing i'm thinking is to make sure the input shaft length is the same. I'm not sure if RX3 and turbo2 bellhousings are the same length wise..
Thanks, the only reason I went with the old school bellhousing is because I already have everything.

I am pretty sure the bellhousings are the same depth, but I will check that tomorrow as I have both now. The only thing would be I would need to have Liberty make me a new adaptor plate because the old school bellhousings have a 9 degree tilt. . Why is it that there is always something that goes wrong when you put new stuff on? It never goes smoothly.... EVER!

i retro fitted rx4 bellhousing to my t2 box, it went straight on and it was same length, but i had to swap out the flywheel to match each combo , and starters to suit

There's two version you can get.
You can get the Limited which is around 7600 or the Pro Stock for 8600

I think that's my only option at this point. Another 1500 bucks down the drain.
Now I have to buy a new flywheel, clutch, scattershield, slave, throwout beering, starter. Oh and another TII bellhousing because I sold my old transmission.

The only good news is that it appears that I can still use this adaptor plate. I just have to get it re drilled for the TII bellhousing.

I call a couple fittings and bolts, small stuff. We're talking major parts here!

Bolt on the adapter with your bell housing on the floor to see if shifter sits upright, If it does, use what you have, You are only all motor so will be fine with the smaller clutch.

Is the Liberty a dual countershaft transmission? It looks a lot like the big Eaton and Rockwell 13 and 18 speeds that are also not synchronized.

The adaptor plate fits fine, it's the N/A starter that will not bolt up because the solenoid hits on the side of the transmission because the transmission is so much wider. On a tII bellhousing the starter is smaller and the solenoid is on the bottom side so clearance is not an issue. YOu cannot use mix match TII starters with N/A starters. My only out is if there is a N/A starter with the solenoid on the bottom. Does one exist?

Thanks Enzo for the help. I just paid several hundered dollars for the adaptor plate that Liberty made for my rx4 bellhousing so I don't know what is going to happen. I'm hoping for as much money I dished out they will give me a TII adaptor and call it a day. If not, that will be another item I will have to buy from you.

Yes, since it is all ready to go I thought I'd see what it would do with the clutchless before I put the 13b in. Actually to see how really bad a shifter I am with the stocker.

Jay, there is a nissan starter you could use on top of the engine. right at the window. similar to old automatic Rx2's.. you know the window on top? the window that comes with the small tin plate? take that tin plate off and put 2 studs to help you line up the nissan starter. I'm almost sure it's a nissan stanza starter. it's small and high torque.

your gonna have to put 2 small spacers on the studs to lift the starter enough to clear the flywheel as the starter gears move forward. but it works perfect.

Thanks Ito for the info. I may try it but I have money invested in a adaptor plate already so I have to sort that out first. Do you have any pics of this installation?

is the only difference two bolt holes at the bottom of the adaptor plate, if so just drill an tap some holes yourself, i know the angles are different but i have had both angle bellhousings in my car and you could hardly tell the difference in shifter position.
I think all you would need to do is just swap in the t2 bellhousing an starter an slave an fork and throw out bearing an flywheel, depending on brand of clutch you have it may bolt up to teh new flywheel, or you could just change the ring gear on your old school flywheel to make it suit t2 diameter ? , then you could keep your old flywheel and clutch combo ? I kno i got told to do that instead of swapping complete twin plate units over

The difference between the TII bellhousings and old school Rx3/rx4 bellhousings is

1. The old school bellhousings have a 9 degree tilt and the TII bellhousings dont. That is why if you noticed when you put the old school bellhousing on a TII transmission it moves the shifter location 9 degrees towards the drivers side in the states and passenger side in your neck of the woods. When I had this setup in my car the shifter was right next to my right leg. Not ideal but worked.

2. They use totally different starters and bolt patterns for the starters. In other words you cannot swap starters.

3. TII bellhousings have an extra 2 bolt holes at 12 and 6 o clock. The other 8 between the two are the same.

The TII uses a larger diameter flywheel and ring gear than the N/A, so no swapping ring gears would not work. And this is why the starters are different.

N/A starters have the solenoid on the top of the starters, while the TII starter is much smaller in diameter and has the solenoid on the bottom left side.

In my case this new transmission is so wide that the N/A starter solenoid hits the sides of the tranmission case. The only way it could work would have an adaptor plate that was about 4-6" thicker, but this would make the tranmission that much longer and put the shifter too far back in a stock chassis car.

So long story short. I have to go all TII parts to make this work for my car.

Nice tranny, can't wait to see what you'll do with a 13b PP under the hood. Good luck in 2011

Thinking about getting a GF-5R-reverse for a honda motor I got here..
