$100T2: I'm sure you're a nice guy, but seriously, stop being so conceited. Nobody cares how convenient Paypal is for you. It's about getting the most money possible. Paypal charges a percentage, but I bet you that you'd get a lot more donations by accepting Paypal. If you really want this to happen, think about making things work, not making things work BEST FOR YOU.
If you really don't want to use Paypal, let someone else take care of the money. If you don't want to do that, you're probably not that serious about the project. You're more interested in your own self-importance. If you don't believe me, ask the West Region about taking donations via Paypal. We had a ton of money donated for one of our members, and it was done via ... that's right, Paypal!
k. go ahead and flame. I can keep a flame war going longer than anyone else.

ok so to get things in order
1. $100T2 is donating his 1st gen
2. we will receive a raffle ticket for every $25 we donate in cash or parts (based on a fair market value)
3. crackheadMel can donate his manifold
4. Terrh can help us out with 13B-T parts
5. I have some 15x7 rims that I can donate (discontinued rims but i'll take the risk) and if we don't need the rims I can donate money
Please add to the list accordingly. Where should we send the money orders/ cashier's checks to?

I didn't see it as a personal problem between paypal and $100T2. HE makes sense when he says that paypal will take away 3% of OUR total donation pot. I'm sure it will be much simpler than M.O or cashier's checks but we will lose some money to PAY paypal.

So I have a 95 motor that probably needs to be rebiult w/ an ACT clutch and a shortened t2 tranny. Its sitting in my rx2 right now but if someone wants to help me pull it ill donate it up. But if we win I get the rebiult motor back. Ive been waiting to see a 7 on pinks.

We still need to figure out WHERE and HOW to send in the Money orders and Cashier's checks/ personal checks.

And, again, I merely came up with that idea as a means to pay for it. A lot of guys seem to think it's a good idea, but have we officially reached a decision to do it?

Stupidity like this makes me want to un-involve myself.

It's Pshaw. Don't mind him. If he's talking **** it is only because he stopped sucking ***** long enough to take a breath.
My friend has a running S4 NA with S5 housings in his garage. I dunno how much he wants for it though and I'm not sure what kind of power we can push out of it (you say 600 was pushed out of a 12A??) but it IS availabe and he just wants to sell it cheap.
thanks for taking the initiative on this and let's make it happen.

Remember, a 13B is only 10 cubic inches bigger than a 12A. I don't think the difference is too substantial, but again, I'm no expert.

A T2 tranny will bolt up to either a 12A or a 13B. As far as more motor details, we need one of the forum engine masters to chime in. Maybe Turblown would be willing to cut us a deal on a turbo?

I wanted to contact turblown and one of the rotary builders but wasn't sure how ready we were. I think the rotary builders will be more likely to help us if we GET a rebuildable 13B-T. So now we figure out
1. how do we set up the donations so we can buy a motor and turbo?
2. if someone donates a motor how do we get the $$ to buy the standalone? turbo? and the necessary parts?

In other news, Chris at www.theforumlounge.com has said he would be happy to be "The Forum" for the car. We can run rampant over the automotive section there if we like.

Will work for horsepower
2200 lb car set up right with 45o hp = 10.20's , at 2000 lbs 450 hp= 9.80's . The point im trying to make is the hp level does not need to be stupid high, and the more hp the more problems. Some sound like throw a big hp motor in anything and we cant loose. Its the balance of the whole car and setup and big + on the driver. The more simple the better how many times have you seen faster car break on pinks! Just offering an opinion.

Go ahead and un-involve yourself. I could care less. Just telling you that if you're really serious about funding this thing, make it convenient to the people that you're asking money from. This isn't about YOU. If you don't want to deal with Paypal, get someone else to handle the finances.
It's really simple, but I'll go ahead and explain anyway. There are A LOT of people here that are unwilling to go to the trouble of sending a check or money order. If you can get donations/raffle ticket money from enough of these people by letting them use Paypal, you have MORE MONEY. If you don't want to deal with Paypal, hand off the finances to someone else. Stop making this about how much YOU can contribute to the project.
And Phoenix7, don't bring the West Region crap in here just because you're still the whipping boy around there. Don't start something that you can't finish. I wasn't joking when I said that I don't mind a flame war. Stop humping $100T2's leg long enough to think about how much more money you can get if you let people donate from their desk at work instead of having to get off their *** to mail a check. And lastly, if you have a problem with me, we'll talk about it over PM because you sure as hell don't know me well enough to be talking to me like that.

bah. I'm gonna make a public apology to $100T2 (not to Phoenix7 -- sorry homey, I still think you were out of line). I stand by my comment about taking paypal and handing the finances off to someone that's comfortable using paypal. I truly believe that you'll get more funds even after paying the fees. I want to apologize for the way I said it. It's not my place to judge $100T2 or to make assumptions as to why he's taken on so much of this project. Either way, I took a jab at him and I apologize for it.
