Russ Turner named the WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief...

Congrats Russ! I'm posting this because the driver usually gets all the glory. I'm glad the see NHRA awarded Russ Turner, Crew chief of the Reactive Racing team this award.

Go to http://www.nhraimport.com for the full article.

For those who don't know how important a crew chief is to the success of the race team...

"When the race team arrives at the track for an event, the crew chief is in charge of the car and mechanical crew. During the runs the crew chief is in charge and makes all the critical decisons. The crew chief is in radio communication with the driver during the race and focuses solely on improving the car during the race and the racing season"

For those who don't know him, here's a pic I took of the famous stud

Anthony

That's great. I have dealt with Russ a couple times by email and over the phone. He is a very nice guy and extremely knowledgeable.

NICE! Russ is very valuable to the Reactive Racing/PCS team, he's the quiet guy in the background who's usually got the first hand on the car on race day, as well as the last when it's all over. Not saying much but secretly planning some sinister plan to see if he can make Dee go so fast that his helmet goes on fire. Congrats Russ.

I am a little biased, but i would have to say he is the best crew chief on the NHRA series Also lets not forget Gary Turner and Kayo Clark these two make it possible for russ and i to get our jobs done.
