Yea, usually we spend a couple of days in the city when we come back to NY.

As far as drivetime to the track that's just to Ennis....

Locally around Houston it's only about 30 mins to Baytown (Houston Raceway Park) and we've got another 1/4 mile West of Houston about 30 mins (owned by Hennessey - the Viper Guy) and a 1/8 mile track on the northside just 20 mins from downtown.

Also there is San Antonio (about 2 hrs away) not to mention about 3-4 other tracks within an hour or so of town out in the boonies.

It's not like we are starving for straight stretches of road around these parts either

It takes about 5 hours for me to get to get to HRP or Ennis. We use to go to the NHRA nats at both tracks but since they built the track in San Antonio (88 miles away from me) we don't do NHRA much anymore. I like the IHRA much more anyway.

Yeah, Houston has some badass houses for CHEAP. 200K up here won't get you jack, but you can get a freaking mansion down there for that.

My entire family lives in Houston, the wife and I will most likely be moving down as soon as the housing market picks up. I can't afford to lose my *** on my current home.

^200K??? men thats cheap.... You can't even get a furnished toilet for that price in NY ...
We have a 50yo ranch(style of house) out of the city & it cost $600k 5 years ago...... NYC is just rediculous.. I know lots of folks that cashed out in NYC and moved to Florida, then they didn't like it down there because they had to work harder for the same pay... A few years ago you could have gottena sweet house in Florida for $150-200 but not again.. When you sell your NYC house for $500k then you pay off the mortage you might end up with 200K, then you move to FL and pay $400k, you still have a debt.... Fork that!!! I'm staying in NY

Well the more the merrier I suppose, keep in mind it's gotten a bit more "cajun" down here in the last couple of years

We have a pretty good RX-club down here and we meet once a month or more typically. Usually near inside or near the 610 Loop.

Damn... I bought my 1950s (1954 actually) ranch style (2100 sq ft) ft in 1998 for $68,500. It appraised last year for just under $130,000.

Most of the houses in my neighborhood sale in the mid 100s. Typically for sale by owner type stuff. The only ones listed on har.com are in the 190s.

Well it's hard to tell at this point if the latest storm has washed up any trash.

One thing that I don't think the NOLA's planned on when they first invaded was the fact that nearly everyone has a gun down here, not just the thugs and gangstas.

Half the "lil ole ladies" on my block are packing heat. The amount of NOLA's that got shot and killed trying to carjack, home invade, etc was pretty amazing I must say. Most of that crime has subsided in the last year or so, I think most of them finally got the picture or got smarter about how they go about hustling.

Not a millionaire yet "play the NY lottery, you never know"
It is pretty crazy out here. Some places out on long island around by Anthony & Enzo are going for big money, even their property taxes are rediculous with $14K-$20K+... My dad has a friend out in Glen Cove, LI thats paying $28K a year property taxes, I **** you not!!!

A friend of mine just bought a 4K sqft house in GA for $230K, that same house in NY would be worth over 1.5 millon and your taxes would be crazy high... 2 family houses in the ghetto are going for $550K, when just 5 years ago they cost half that price... 8-10 years ago insted of spending $1000's behind cars, I should have invested my money like most of my friends.... Some of those guys got 3-4 houses rented out, while they sit on their asses at home... NY is the place to make money, but unfortunately most of it goes towards the high cost of day to day living.. Got a letter a few months ago say the house estimated worth is around $530K, where as 1 year ago it was appraised for $700k, a big drop thanks to Bush

This ecnomy sucks right now, retail business is the worst it has ever been in over 20 years... Over 15 years in retail, just past Febuary my father had to close one of his retail stores because of this mess.. When you have a $18k rent & $3k in utilitles at the end of the month, the landlords don't wanna hear "its slow"..
Eric some places in NY are going for $200 per sqft... We had 24k sqft on the upper west side (Manhattan) for 10 years, then they demolished the building to put up a high rise "posh" apartment building which should be completed next year... A few weeks ago my father had a meeting with the landlords because they promised him a good spot seeing that he was a good tenant... 3 years ago we were paying $22k for 24k sqft, today they want $60k for 16k sqft, how forkin rediculous is that!!! Thats not the main problem, because business is booming around there and $60k is "ok" BUT the catch is they want 6months rent up front... Who the hell is going to give these ****'s $360k up front then spend another $200k to furnish a store, in the times we are currently in.... Jews runs this city boys, those guys call all the shots...they don't care if you are black or white, they only care about money....

Hanna has arrived.. Right now we have minor flash flooding on some of the main roads, but nothing much to talk about.. Later tonight we expect to get heavy rain & 50mph winds, so I wish those guys out on LI lots of luck.. Anthony hope you done have to much cleaning up to do tomorrow, same goes for everyone else around the LI, NJ coast..

Crispeed and others, good luck with Ike.. Hope you secure your shop in proper order, because I don't wanna see a 4rotor rx8 boat on CNN
Jason (bigdaddy performance) call me this morning, he said the last storm caused part of their shop roof to colapse and water damaged computers etc..

Hope this bitch Hanna don't scare away the coastal fishes because tomorrow I wanna go fishing

I can't believe I left an island paradise thats out of the hurricane belt to come to this county.. In America I have to constantly worry about terrorist, hurricanes, floods & crazy co-workers
In Trinidad we only have to worry about the dozens of unemployed Cobos that live in a place call the beetham.. Those forkers will robb & kill you because they to forking lazy to get a job.. n:
