Phil Laird 3 Rotor Dragster

Can't find anymore pictures, just this one from a race a few days ago. Only made one pass, broke the rear plate on the big end.

Nice turbo sitting next to his head

horrible driver. over revved it in the water box. Spun the tire at launch and over revved it there. then continues to punish the engine after the run was a total lost. no wonder he broke a plate.

a 20B has so much torque and power at low boost, that there is no need to over revved the **** out of it, like he did. get that rookie out of the drivers seat!!!!

Apparently it was his first time back in the seat of a dragster since a crash a few years ago so they wasn't sure what to expect with him...I guess he's still a little shaken up by the accident, just imagine crashing at over 170+ you know that will leave a lasting memory whenever you get back behind the wheel of one of those things.. listen to the Phil Laird interview on speedFM

They ran a 6.99 @181 yesterday and still not running on full song... Could be an easy 6.50's once fully sorted on the right track and a little more practice from the driver..
BTW Ito don't feel to bad, someone else also mention the driver "over reving" in the water box.

apples & oranges

Those records are for chassis cars 1900-2100lbs, rail(dragster) cars weigh much less so in that case records should not be compared..Besides less weight, there are other facts involve to achieve lower ET's with similar power in Rail.

Did i miss something here?? My responce was directed to the person who asked the question so he don't get records mixed up JUST INCASE hes a noob and think "WOW, why can't 20b's in the US run 6.50's"
2nd time out and it ran a 6.99 so im sure it'll be the quickest rotary powered vehicle in the world pretty soon. Right now he holds the record for the quickest rotary powered Dragster in the world.

Yeh an intercooler always complicate that part of the setup especially when it's an air-to-water design.
