I didn't want my car to become a strictly drag car, so i went with a kaaz, RE toe links, RE trailing arms, and a diff brace. 300M axles and suspension will come this winter.
Running a Cobra rear end seems to be a good option if you want to keep the IRS, but i don't have any experience with it.

you can find housings for pretty cheap (sometimes complete rearends for cheap). go to moparts.com and look inthe "transmission and drivetrain" for sale sections. that should give you an idea of prices in your area, or you could go to a salvage yard that has classic mopars and look around.
http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/...rt=1&vc=1&nt=2
http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/drivetrain-parts.html here are some parts for it new, summit might be a little cheaper.
i plan on cutting down an early 70s d100 truck axle to size on my fc, those can be had for usually really cheap. or any other one will work, or you could get one of the OEM chrysler lengths if they work:
http://www.moparts.com/Tech/Archive/axle/16.html
you will need custom length axles if they are cut, which shouldnt be more than 300 bucks, mopar big lug pattern is the same as the fc/fd. the 4 link im not sure on price, have to find a local shop and get some details from them on cost.
im sure im forgetting something, if i think of anything ill add it.

I am also running an 8 3/4 in my car. I have not had a chance to really abuse it but i am sure it will hold up. I narrowed it myself witch saved me a lot of money. I took the housing ends that i cut off and ground them on a surface grinder and welded them back on the narrowed housing. I made a fixture to hold the ends straight while i welded them. I installed a set of Moiser axles, green axle bearings, and a 4:89 ring and pinion on a stock posi unit. The whole setup cost me about $750-800 and should be fairly bulletproof.

the guy that has that has 750hp and about the same torque, should be good for 950 hp.
