Mid plate mounting, with chev bellhousing/clutch

Ok



anyone that has done it could you please fill me in on a couple of pointers that have me stumped at the moment.

main problem im having is the thickness of the plate, if i keep it to 10mm i can get away without spacing the flywheel back (i want to avoid this at all costs)

I can up size the plate to 16mm and just machine down the area where flywheel runs thats not a problem.

my problem exists that i need to run countersunk bolts as the flywheel passes over the std mazda bolt pattern.

now the only problem exists at the two dowels on the back of the block, i can get enough meet on all the other bolt holes but with these two its pushing it and you get *** all meet on mid plate.

I can get away with drivers side dowel if i just drill open the rear end plate and run a stud in the mid plate, but the passanger side im stumped.

the only option i can come across is shorten the dowel and deal with the fact its clamping on about 2-3mm of alloy :|

Anybody done it?
