Not sure what kinda power you are laying down but you could always have a Liberty convert done thru Enzo. Held for his brother just fine. Would keep you under your budget , everything still lines up and works and you dont have to worry about getting bumped from classes due to illegal tranny!
I did know about 2 gforce tranny's out west for 5k each. Came out of a rotary car. But this was over 1 year so doubt they are still laying around.

majority of my passes were with a stock tranny and I never broke one always ran at 600+rwhp. I only have about 4 passes with my liberty built tranny but so far so good. Theres too many factors to why a stock tranny breaks and most of the time I dont believe its strictly the trannys fault. Plenty of supposedly stronger trannys break too. Theres a few on this board that have gone high 8s low 9s with a stock tranny, dementedgirls 1st gen great example as are others.
I say keep using it until it breaks then upgrade unless this car is a race car. Dont listen to the haters get out there and make some passes.. If it breaks big deal at least you'll know I think when it comes to rotaries you should take everyones advice with a grain of salt.

hey turbor1 what did liberty do to your trans and what was the cost of what they did do i have found a gforce gf-5r that has been freshly rebuilt for 3500 with the shifter but then i need clutch bellhousing so prolly like 5500 for all that when done but i do want to drive this thing on the street alittle i built this thing to grudge race race. These v8 guys down here in SC dont know anything about these rotory's but i getting ready to show them v8s alittle something and if you mind me asking about how much does your car weigh ? thanks for any help i need it i am still pretty fresh at these too but i have learned alot from a few friends and am still learning but i just want this thing to fly and by the way you car is awsome

Johnny, check the other thread in this section that talks about the liberty built stock tranny, but basically its dog face plating the gears, removing the syncros, upgrading the input output shafts if you like.. mine is made out of 300m which is expensive so it was north of 2500.. also depends on the condition of the tranny you give them depending on if you need new gears bearings etc. Contact Enzo if you want more details on exact pricing.
My car is a full interior full weight car so around 2800 lbs.. Only weight reduction I have done was remove my spare and jack from the hatch everything else is still there..

thanks Im going to check on that liberty i got my car down to 2600 with me in the car and i got alittle more to take off im going to try for that 1/4mile record that ari set , 9:20 i think it is . my car has been in miami for awhile now getting everything done i put the jay tec 1500cfm throttle body on it with 8 1600cc injectors its got a 74mm turbo microtech lt16 we just put in it 2 msd dis 2s high outputs 4 msd coils on a built ,pinned, and a very large street race port motor it made some very impressive #s but they did not want to turn it up anymore than 25lbs till i take it to the track and lay some #s down and thats when the trans issues keeping coming up. I run a 26-10-15 slick on a 10 inch wide rim the rear is a welded completly solid diff and drive shaft shop axels so im pretty sure the rear will hold up but i havent left on the 2 step yet with it i but that a easy fix there if it breaks ill put the cobra rear in it but the trans is another issue i do drive this thing around town alittle very little though and i do run slicks then also you guys all seem to run ets street or drag radials and have very good luck have you tried slicks on your car yet ? i have just about read every post the you guys have put up on here and wathed every video that you and earnie t and anthonynyc has put up tring to learn everything i can and i really appriecate the help man really

Alex lopez and berto i sure hope it moves out it made mid 7s on 25lbs and says there plenty more left in it . When i took it down it only had like 480 to the wheels and it was running pretty good #s at the track then so they want me to just take it to the track and see how it does before going any farther with it right now im going down this weekend to pick it up and bring her home. Parts were a nightmare to get all together to get it finished but its all worth the wait i got a certain super charged vette (makes 700hp to the wheels) up here that im going to unleash this thing on for a good amount of money as soon as i get a few passes on it i will post some pics when i get her home

this is a very nice clutch for the money...adjusting requires a bit of patience and a bell housing with good access.oh and it would require a liberty or Gforce tranny ...other than this a good conventional double disk clutch will do the job for alot less..

Call g-force they sell refurbished gf5r for less than 5k. i bought one a few years back. trannie, adapter, shifter and MW slip yoke. a guy i know called last week to see if they have a refurbished unit and they can put one together. plus you can get the gearing you want.

I just glad to see another rotary drag guy pop up. Small group we have. I wish you the best and hope you hit your goals!
So someone explain to me the relationship between Edgar, Alex Lopez, Time Machines, etc.. Sure is a **** load in SFL! Edgar makes and sales the Alex Lopez Seal (ALS) I was told Edgars shop used to tune Timemachines cars? Off subject but just curious.
