Lazcano interview.. transalator wanted

I know i should have be paying more attention to those PR chics from high school... Only thing i ever herd from them was "Ay papi damelo mas duro"

Sounds like a call out to Flaco.. http://grs-motorsports.com/noticias/...staLazcano.wmv

Not a word by word translation, but it went like this:

-Reporter= Lazcano what are your plans in 2008?

-Lazcano = We intend to run the 2008 npi/NHRA series

-Reporter = Tells us about your car?

-Lazcano = We are still running the 3.0L engine, and plan on doing a good job with it. Nobody in the US has run as fast as us with a 3.0L; they all run a stroke version of it or a 3.5L

-Reporter = Flaco made some comments about you in Las Vegas...

-Lazcano = Flaco needs to know his place, he has a very sophisticated car\20B engine; and has not been able to run any better than 6.7 in the last two years. If Flaco needs help, have him give me call, we can help improve and get out of his two year plateau.

So call us!

Someone should private message Abel, and point him to this thread. I'm sure he'll get a smile out of it

Nevermind, I just did.

This is after a previous interview with Abel where he called Lazcano an elephant and told Pica that if he got a new driver (skinner) his 7 would run a lot faster. He who laughes last laughes best kinda comes to mind.

Yep, that same one. It's like Kabooski said, it's all in fun. Just talking smack. Abel has a legacy but times change and he has some catching up to do. Like Rafaelito who use to be called "El Rotor Major" but now has a hardtime keeping up with the top contenders. Money$$$$$ and time is always a major factor too I quess.

With all due respect Mr Ibarra, I figured that I would respond first to your comments since I started the thread.
I don't think that anyone from PR is "down the ladder" because what they have done in the past few years deserves much respect because NO ONE else in the rotary world has been able to be as consistant or powerful as them. Your record for the world fastest rotary still stands and I credit you for the fine job you have done in the past, but I think its time to man up and give credit where its due.

Sporty ran 6.96 on a 2rotor and was able to back up his 196mph to prove to the world that he is consistant and he is making big power. Pica is by far the most consistant 2rotor in the world, with numerious runs in the 7.2's and tons of 190's in a 3/4 chassis . Major league only has a handful of passes before it went 6's and if he had the amount of track time most of the US teams have (including you) I would bet my last cent that your record would have been smashed.
The above guys are just a tiny few examples from PR but there's alot more quick, consistant cars that I'm yet to mention.
Outside of PR we have guys like PAC with the "world's most consistant 20b" in the mx6. Almost every past is a 7.0 and I've yet to see them oil down the track. Rotormaster/ M&M racing 3/4 chassis FD is on the verge of 6's with tons of 7.1's from their 20b and just like PAC I've yet to see them break in the water box.

This is not an attack against you bacause I've meet you several times and you're a cool person, but PR & Australia is where the quickest & most consistant rotarys live.

I have to agree 100% with RotaryBoys comment. I have nothing but respect for Mr. Ibarra. You are Sir a rotary legend but everyone is getting faster and more consistent. I am by no means an expert just a fan that tries to keep up with the rotary drag racing world. As I said in my earlier post time and money is an enormous factor in going fast but you do have to admit that the boricuas with little or no sponsorship are making great strives on the drag strip. I would love to see you get a major sponsor and be be competitive again but right now it's not happening. This is just my humble opinion of course but the facts are facts.

well taking things from Flaco side
He is the fastest rotary still and to mention 13B race cars its apple and oranges
since he uses a 20B and is not interested in having the fastest 13B powered car
If he was he would build one...But as he has hinted money is tight
prioritys are 1st racing is second....

I give to respect to Flaco cause he has set the bar in the past
that everyone from the times of the R100 gunned for

On the other flip side
The 3 Rotor cars are being put in the back burner
cause all the excitement is in the 13B cars with there record setting performances
and getting lower and lower in times unlike 3 rotors that have hit a wall....................

The weight issue was of greater concern a few years ago, but PR has proven themselves time & time again at NHRA events recently. Ok how about Ken? A simple, normal man on a tight budget and ran 7.2's in the NHRA series... No need to mention the weight issues again, this was years ago when we had "run what yah brung"

I think Abel doesnt have to do no catching up becouse he Is still the fastest rotary........ He just needs to speed up becouse there are some puertoricans coming way to fast. And Abel, you shouldnt be giving excuses about work or simply about anything. Just get the car ready for what you do best and hope to do better this year. ( thats if you still racing)

My respects for all you guys that are putting rotaries and of course Puerto Rico on the Map

I really hope so because form the looks of it presently with all the bickering and arguing going down they might not never be able to get the rules done on time.
